There are a few threads on this subject explaining it and giving the same date. I'll link them below and use quotes so you guys can visualize it.

But I've created this thread to give another approach. I was just adding numbers up and turns out December 15th/16th is the 13th day of the 13th month on the 13 months calendar in which each month has 28 days

The 13 Moon Calendar 28 day calendar has been in use for over 5500 years. From the Incan, to the Druidic count, to the Egyptian, to the Essene, to the Mayan, to the Polynesian, the 13 moon calendar has been used throughout pre-history as the harmonic standard.
 Quoting: .

[link to www.13moon.com]

The actual mayan calendar does not use this configuration, their main calendar has 13 months of 20 days each. Actually I didn't search that much but there is a chance that at some point in time the they used the 13:28, since they haven't apparently used only one calendar all the time.

For the 13 months 28 days calendar:

364/13=28.

28x12=336

Dec 3rd is the 337h day of the year, the first day of the last month if we consider 13 months. 13 days later is 15th/16th december, the 349th day. This is 13/13/13.

Now I'll quote the thread from Revelator Stargate that contains good explanations regarding the mayan calendar end date and why it falls on Dec 16th 2013. I suggest you read his whole OpeningPost/thread though. Its amazing how the 13's line up indeed.

Thread: COMET ISON & THE 13th AHAU CYCLE- The True "End-Time" of the Mayan Calendar (Dec. 16th, 2013)

13 Ahau is the highest form of completion in regards to the Tzolkin calendar and when you combine that with the 13th baktun, you get the highest form of calendar completion, interlocking the gears in the Mayan cycle. Thus, Dec. 16th, 2013 is 13 Baktun and 13 Ahau. The strongest possible completion you can possibly get! Maximum completion is when it reaches 13.0.1.0.0 or Dec. 16th, 2013! You can't get maximum calendar completion or the Long Count and Tzolkin calendar synchnocity when it reads 13.0.0.0.0 or Dec. 21st, 2012

Again, the Mayans used a 13:20 sync and this is seen in the Tzolkin calendar. The Tzolkin begins at 1 Imix, and ends on 13 Ahau and the 13:20 sync cycle is also used to figure out the katuns and baktuns as shown below:

20 kins equal 1 uinal or 20 days
18 uinals equal 1 tun or 360 days
20 tuns equal 1 katun or 7,200 days
20 katuns equal 1 baktun or 144,000 days

[link to www.hanksville.org]

So I plugged in the numbers and calculated this. As soon below, the numbers clearly don't like when I take the end date of Dec. 16th, 2013 and work backwords using a 13:20 cycle sync. Here is the example below:

Dec. 16th, 2013 minus 1,872,000 days or 144,000 days x 13 baktun cycles = August 5th -3113 (13 Ahau) All 13 Batuns completed!

Dec. 16th, 2013 minus 93,600 days or 7,200 days x 13 cycle katuns = Sept. 9th, 1757 (13 Ahau) All 13 Katuns completed!

Dec. 16th, 2013 minus 4680 days or 360 days x 13 cycle tuns = Feb. 22nd, 2001 (13 Ahau) All 13 Tuns completed!

Dec. 16th, 2013 minus 260 days or 20 days x 13 cycle uinals = March 31st, 2013 (13 Ahau) All 13 Uinals completed!

You see, all the gears rotate perfectly this way. It can't be done if you compute it by Dec. 21st, 2012 because everything would fall on a 4 Ahau for the Baktun completion, the Katun completion, the Tun completion, and the Uinal completion, and we know now that this can't be the case because the end of the Tzolkin 260 day cycle is 13 Ahau, not 4 Ahau!

In order for the calendar to reach maximum competion the 20 uinals, the 20 tuns, the 20 katuns, and the 20 baktuns have to be completed in the 13 cycle, all reaching 13 Ahau. Get it?

And as shown above with my calculations, it does! Maximum completion is shown on Dec. 16th, 2013 and again can't be done for computing the date of Dec. 21st, 2012.

December 16th, 2013 (13 Ahau Maximum Completion). All 13 Ahaus line up perfectly! The Long Count and the Tzolkin perfectly interlock and sync together. It is like hitting the jackpot!

jactkpot

Thus, zero year shouldn't have been included figuring out the end date as shown below:

Dec 16th, 2013 13.0.1.0.0 (13 Ahau)

144,000 days earlier or 1 baktun cycle...

Sept. 13th, 1619 12.0.1.0.0 (1 Ahau)

144,000 days earlier or another baktun cycle

June 10th, 1225 11.0.1.0.0 (2 Ahau)

and so on....

March 8th, 831 10.0.1.0.0 (3 Ahau)

Dec. 3rd, 436 9.0.1.0.0 (4 Ahau)

Aug. 31st 42 8.0.1.0.0 (5 Ahau)

May 28th, -352 7.0.1.0.0 (6 Ahau)

Feb. 23rd -746 6.0.1.0.0 (7 Ahau)

Nov. 21st -1141 5.0.1.0.0 (8 Ahau)

Aug. 18th -1535 4.0.1.0.0 (9 Ahau)

May 16th -1929 3.0.1.0.0 (10 Ahau)

Feb. 10th -2323 2.0.1.0.0 (11 Ahau)

Nov. 8th -2718 1.0.1.0.0 (12 Ahau)

August 5th -3112 0.0.1.0.0 (13 Ahau) (YEAR 1)

Aug. 11th, -3113 0.0.0.0.0 (4 Ahau) (ZERO YEAR)

You can see then when it starts on August 5th, -3112 B.C. (13 Ahau) and you go baktun by baktun (144,000 days each) it goes up the ladder perfectly. 13 Ahau, 12 Ahau, 11 Ahau, 10 Ahau, and so on, until it reaches 13 cycle baktun completion on Dec. 16th, 2013 and 13 Ahau, It doesn’t equate if you compute it with the base of Dec. 21st, 2012 as shown below:

Dec 21st, 2012 13.0.0.0.0 (4 Ahau)

Sept. 18th, 1618 12.0.0.0.0 (5 Ahau)

June 15th, 1224 11.0.0.0.0 (6 Ahau)

March 13th, 830 10.0.0.0.0 (7 Ahau)

Dec. 9th, 435 9.0.0.0.0 (8 Ahau)

Sept. 5th, 41 8.0.0.0.0 (9 Ahau)

June 3rd, -353 B.C. 7.0.0.0.0 (10 Ahau)

Feb. 28th -747 B.C. 6.0.0.0.0 (11 Ahau)

Nov. 26th -1142 B.C. 5.0.0.0.0 (12 Ahau)

Aug. 23rd -1536 B.C. 4.0.0.0.0 (13 Ahau)

May 21st -1930 B.C. 3.0.0.0.0 (1 Ahau)

Feb. 16th -2324 B.C. 2.0.0.0.0 (2 Ahau)

Nov. 13th -2719 B.C. 1.0.0.0.0 (3 Ahau)

August 5th -3112 B.C. 0.0.1.0.0 (13 Ahau) (YEAR 1)

Aug. 11th, -3113 B.C. 0.0.0.0.0 (4 Ahau) (ZERO YEAR)

perhaps if such calendars 'wanted to be in Harmony with the days and months and years' they would be different from the calendars of today.

Just remember the Mayan where so smart they could predict the end of the world, yet couldn't prevent their own demise??

It doesnt really matter when the end of their cycle is. I find it curious u choose to correct misinterpretations of the date instead of correcting misinterpretations about what will actually happen that day.

I guess it doesn't matter since nothing will happen anyways. Just funny seeing people doom farming until something sprouts its ugly ass through the ground. The true irony from you sir, is that if anything did perpetuate itself on that day you'd be the one who wasted the most of the time they had left to tell the rest of the world. So they may enjoy the last few weeks of fear mongering left. Admirable, sir. But still completely retarded

Many come with this argument but honestly I don't think its well thought through. First of all defining their prophecies as 'end of the world' is a bit too simple.

The fact that they made predictions about planetary changes based on observable cyclic motions does not mean that the mayans would be immune to the process of rise and fall of the civilizations. I believe there was somewhat a 'golden age' of the mayan civilization but it was followed by a downfall. Also the conditions in which the civilization disappeared aren't exactly well explained are they?

Its not like they can predict the future at the power of will ( I guess ) and be prepared for any event on their way. Things happen for reasons and they happen as they should.

You're IGNORANT!

The "Mayan" of today have nothing to do the Mayan who originated the "so-called Mayan calendar".

The people who originated the "Mayan calendar" are OLMECS.

The calendar was NAMED AFTER the people living in the region now ... known as MAYAN.

MAYA means ILLUSION, but that probably escape your pea brain as well.

I just spend 13 years in Yucatan,Chiapas and Guatemala, and I can assure you Mayan knowledge is still there, although dormant.

Since the visit of the Spanish and the following 500 years of onslaught it's a miracle still millions follow the "old" ways.

Your numerology and interpretation of the calenders are correct,as far as I can see.

There's still time,so I'll get back to you.

Why did you mention "349th day of the year",it doesn't feel like Mayan numerology?

Does "349the day of the year" have any significance in western culture or religion in your opinion?

I just spend 13 years in Yucatan,Chiapas and Guatemala, and I can assure you Mayan knowledge is still there, although dormant.

Since the visit of the Spanish and the following 500 years of onslaught it's a miracle still millions follow the "old" ways.

Your numerology and interpretation of the calenders are correct,as far as I can see.

There's still time,so I'll get back to you.

I kinda asked myself the same question, why exactly I put that in the title.

When calculating to see if it was the 13th of the 13th month I did 28x12 to see how many days in 12 months and got 336 days, dec 3rd is first day of the 13th month and is the 337th day of the year. The 13th of that month will fall on 15/16th december of our calendar. The 349th/350th day of the year.

But I dont really know why I put it in the title.

On the same date, 16th December, a perfect alignment will occur with Earth-Ison-Venus. Ison will be at a distance of 48 million miles or 77 million km from both the Earth and Venus.

Dec. 16th, 2013 minus 93,600 days or 7,200 days x 13 cycle katuns = Sept. 9th, 1757 (13 Ahau) All 13 Katuns completed!

Dec. 16th, 2013 minus 4680 days or 360 days x 13 cycle tuns = Feb. 22nd, 2001 (13 Ahau) All 13 Tuns completed!

Dec. 16th, 2013 minus 260 days or 20 days x 13 cycle uinals = March 31st, 2013 (13 Ahau) All 13 Uinals completed!

Thus, zero year shouldn't have been included figuring out the end date as shown below:

Dec 16th, 2013 13.0.1.0.0 (13 Ahau)

Ison by itself may not effect earth , but it certainly acts as a signpost.
Don't we use similar signposts for affirmation of change? We notice flock of birds travelling south on certain time of year and we know winter is coming.
Could we not notice on celestial level ison is also acting as a bird travelling as a sign of change?
Perhaps that is why the ancients paid so much attention to flight of comets.
Not all comets are a sure sign of change since most of them tend to be dirty snowballs. But every now and then we are confronted by a comet that is not a snowball and has all the properties of being electric. Ison maybe such comet.
If it quaks like a duck and looks like a duck...
Ison may well be such a duck since the numerology of ison and its passage on this particular time fits all the predictions as being a harbinger of change.

Trying to stay within logical parameters and at the same time respecting the ancient knowledge, I make this prediction.
Ison will not effect earth to point of any disaster, but from first quarter of 2014 onwards I would expect to see accelerated changes on every aspect of life on earth. Weather, economy, governments etc etc. For better or worse is a matter of prospective.
Remember one thing. For a house to be rebuilt, the old one must come down first. Trick is to have all provisions ready for the transition period of the old house coming down and new one going up.

Stock up with provisions, not because a disaster is coming. Because it would make your life easier during the change.
When you see the first flock of birds travelling south, do you not begin to think of getting ready the winter clothes? Peace

Not to be a party pooper but you are all getting false hopes for this world to change...

You will find hundreds of numerical coincidences on any date if you look (and try) hard enough...

“The living being had no need of eyes because there was nothing outside of him to be seen; nor of ears because there was nothing to be heard; and there was no surrounding atmosphere to be breathed; nor would there have been any use of organs by the help of which he might receive his food or get rid of what he had already digested, since there was nothing which went from him or came into him: for there was nothing beside him. Of design he created thus; his own waste providing his own food, and all that he did or suffered taking place in and by himself. For the Creator conceived that a being which was self-sufficient would be far more excellent than one which lacked anything; and, as he had no need to take anything or defend himself against any one, the Creator did not think it necessary to bestow upon him hands: nor had he any need of feet, nor of the whole apparatus of walking; but the movement suited to his spherical form which was designed by him, being of all the seven that which is most appropriate to mind and intelligence; and he was made to move in the same manner and on the same spot, within his own limits revolving in a circle. All the other six motions were taken away from him, and he was made not to partake of their deviations. And as this circular movement required no feet, the universe was created without legs and without feet.” -Plato

december is summer over here, and we are having really hot days but I get what you are saying, thanks for the post and the heads up.

I started this thread just because of the date falling on 13/13/13, only later on I saw there would be an alignment with Ison, this is really interesting.

There are also other reasons for why I had my eyes on the 15/16th December, even before reading about the mayan calendar possibly falling on that date.

thx again for the heads up, may we be properly ready for whatever comes our way hf

Sorry but I don't really buy into this. Just because a bunch of people "made predictions" through the centuries and they didn't come through, doesn't mean that nothing will ever happen.

I could waste a lot of time looking into the predictions in the link you provided to speak about them and explain why they are a lot different from a calendar that was made before any of the predictions stated there.

But I do kinda agree with you on something that is not exactly within your reply. Its about the fact that many are blindly waiting for the world to change without trying to understand themselves and the way that they should change within themselves to actually understand what this is all about
