Turns out there's a Mary Haggerty who used to be an Ed Assistant at SHS; now works for educational software companies. Was she the missing adult from the big meeting that day? Was she there as an EA, subbing, or possibly there to talk to staff about software? |

[Note: What does she mean by outside? Outside the building? Were these the possible shots at Roig's windows?] “What’s that?” Cox asked...When Halstead responded she didn’t know, Cox abruptly ended the call with Bonnie and prepared to investigate. Then she heard Halstead call her name...“I just dove under my computer desk...within seconds, the popping sounds stopped as quickly as they had started, and Cox held her breath when she heard someone open her office door...“The person was there just a few seconds,” Cox said. “I was frozen in fear....He turned around and walked out, and as soon as the door closed I heard more popping." ...Halstead then made a dash for the infirmary and dove under Cox’s desk. She grabbed the office phone and immediately called 911. “Help, we have a shooter,” Halstead said into the phone. “It’s the school. Get help right away.”... “I could hear popping and screaming, and it was horrible, knowing I couldn’t do anything,” Cox said." [link to nypost.com] |

Without ear plugs, your ears are ringing, the rifle produces a shock wave with each round, even through a cement wall it is a pretty unmistakable explosive report. Not a "popping sound". Too true. Also weird is the number of people who described it as "rapid." Gene Rosen's series of "pop-pop-pop-pop-pops" would have almost had to be full auto; or possibly bump firing. If the speed of Rosen's recounted "pops" is in fact close to what he heard, I'd guess the latter. (And obviously, he'd be justified calling them pops since he was hearing them from farther away.) This may be why Pres. Obama confusedly referred to it as full auto. But to shape the anti-gun narrative more to their needs, they're leaving off the detail about the bump grip. |

Without ear plugs, your ears are ringing, the rifle produces a shock wave with each round, even through a cement wall it is a pretty unmistakable explosive report. Not a "popping sound". And the shooter supposedly shot a child, at close range 11 times. A small child vs. 11 rounds from a high velocity rifle - at close range. As if there would be 11 neat little holes to count if this really happened. At close range the round will still be near muzzle velocity. The effect of cavitation would be horrendous. The round would probably not even start to tumble since it is going so fast. But the shock wave would be devastating to the tissue and bones anywhere close to impact. Before you get to the 11th shot the victim would have massive wounds if the previous 10 shots actually impacted the body or what ever was left after a few rounds. |

The five fourth-grade teachers were discussing the event in a conference room when Principal Dawn Hochsprung stopped by with a box of chocolates. The principal complimented [Ted] Varga, 25, on his holiday neckwear before leaving. Minutes later, she was dead in the hallway after lunging at the mass murderer. A janitor shouting outside was the first clue of the impending nightmare, followed by the sound of repeated gunshots. “We suddenly realized there was no lock on the door, and there was no place to hide,” Varga recalled. “We’re sitting ducks, waiting to get killed.” The second-year teacher dialed 911 and opened the door, peering into the hallway. “You could taste the smoke in the air,” he said. “There were so many shots.” [link to www.nydailynews.com] |
