Let me tell you what I have done.

I have joined the American Legion.
I have volunteered for the Honor guard.
I have written hundreds of articles (without pay) exposing the failures, fraud and abuses of the VA.
I have organized protests by Veterans against violent antiwar groups.
I have supported those causes doing the most good for our veterans.
I have never wished anyone a "happy" Veterans day which by the way is 11 November, not today.
And this Veterans day I will be at a memorial remembering all those we have lost.

Remember according to the left the VA scandals is a manufactured crisis by the republicans and it is not as wide spread as republicans say it is because of surveys the VA has done with those Veterans it has seen.

Years ago The United States Government did one of their many surveys to determine how many homeless were Vietnam veterans, the answer will shock and surprise you.

22 million people claimed to be Vietnam veterans.

It was an astounding number especially when you consider that according to the records of the department of defense

9,087,000 military personnel served on active duty during the Vietnam Era

and 2,594,000 personnel served within the borders of South Vietnam (1 January 1965 - 28 March 1973)

Another 50,000 men served in Vietnam between 1960 and 1964,

and of that 2.6 million, between 1 and 1.6 million (40-60%) either fought in combat, provided close combat support.
