Any addiction is physical if you are consumed by it long enough when you don't use it, your brain thinks something is wrong with you.
Alcohol 1-2 a week is bad enough if you drink 20 beers, but at least if you have some time between you can recover.
If you use anything every day for a few years, your brain thinks that is how it is supposed to be.
That is physical addiction when you changed your brain.
