WTF!!!! Where is the bright object that has been in the southwest sky for months??

In NM too...but I never made it out to look....

I've gotten use to seeing it. Not really into astronomy, but how can an object that bright suddenly disappear? Especially since they have been saying that its Venus. It's just gone. ????????

In NM too. I have assumed the very bright object-which flashes-in the western sky was Venus... I just went outside and I don't see it either...that's kinda wierd anomaly...

What bothers me is that no one has posted about this. I get on GLP a few times a week. I was out for the last 5 hours tonight and noticed this just after sunset and was expecting a shitload of threads. But nothing!!! Someone farts and it smells like shit and they post a thread and get 200 responses. The brightest object in the sky for the last few months disappears and none of the thousands of amateur astronomers say one word after several hours. Something is seriously fucked up! Even if it passed in front of another planet it would not hours take hours to reappear. Can't wait for the shills and their explanation on this. Should be very entertaining.

So suddenly it moves from the middle of the sky where it has been for months and sets right after dusk tonight. And you do not find that strange???? And you accept this forthright and do not question this? Who told you this?

Well, Venus would be set by now, but not when you said you looked.... I will take a look tomorrow evening....

What are you talking about? I am talking about the bright object that has been in the southwestern sky for months. There have been probably hundreds of post about this. ITS GONE!!!! They said it was Venus. Some dipshit tried to say that it already set at dusk. How could it be in the middle of the sky at night and then suddenly set tonight at dusk. Planets do not move that way.

If you think that the people on GLP are so stupid that they believe that a supposed planet that has been the brightest object in the sky suddenly moved from the middle of the sky and suddenly set today then you are the idiot.

Seen it to Op. Didn't bother me when I didn't see it anymore. Came here to GLP and have been bullshitted and lied to so many times im starting to question if I should even drink water anymore. There are some good astronuts in here that find all this shit happening as normal.

Download Stellarium is free and its in real time. it will show you what you are looking at, if you are seeing something that is not showing on stellruim then you have something....but until then its been Venus. has been for awhile now.

That is not the problem my friend. I really did not know what I was looking at. I was told that the very bright object in the southwestern sky was Venus. I accepted that with an open mind and of course on GLP there was much conjecture and discussion. What I am saying is that this very large bright object has disappeared tonight.

that is why I am saying to check stellarium!

It will show if it is venus or if you really have seen something thats not supposed to be there.

I've seen it come and go. Most of the time I see it, but since summer, there have been a couple of times when it's just not there. Paralax? James Horak mentioned that if you even try to track the moon, you will notice anomalies in it's course (or something like that, I can't remember exactly what) It's the new normal...

Not sure why the "object" "disappeared" for you tonight. Venus was nice and bright for me here in NC, similar time as the last week or so now. *shrugs*
