dx'd w/thyroid tumor, med lab says huge run on thyroid testing, out of tests

I am in PNW, and recently diagnosed with a thyroid tumor. I have been waiting for presurgical tests, yet the med lab says they are on backorder as there has been a huge increase in thyroid testing/illness.

In glp threads, I have read that 1/3 of all westcoast kids have thyroid disease, as children are 10 X's more likely to suffer from radiation contact, next would be adults with immune issues, such as I. Mainstream population to follow.

How many of you, or your family and friends have been diagnosed with a sick thyroid post Fukushima event? If sickness is already present, and the 'radiation cloud' from Japan is just reaching the Westcoast in full...I am imagining an exponential rise in thyroid disease, in the very near future.
