My thoughts exactly. Seems like he's more interested in actually teaching her a lesson than catching her out. Dragging her through the whole routine to really drive home the point to her. I actually think this cop deserves some serious kudos; at no point was he ever antagonistic, he seemed to be genuinely concerned for her wellbeing whilst maintaining his authority. He also does it full view of the dash cam, so it's probably for either court purposes or for a sit down with her family - I don't know how strict they are with DUI's in the states, here in SA it's pretty much straight to jail (unless you can bribe the officer ofc :P ).

Officer was just doing his job, I doubt there was any malicious intent. These field sobriety tests are designed to help prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she was drunk. He even goes as far as to demonstrate how it is to be performed, and to be honest, she couldn't do any of them correct. He did his job, got a drunk out from behind the wheel before she could kill herself or anybody else. Kudos for the officer.

I'm not throwing the BS flag, but there are a number of inconsistencies.

Since refusal to take a breathalyzer results in a suspended license, most states require more evidence that just a cop saying "he/she looked impaired"

If they don't find empty alcohol containers in the vehicle, and the person doesn't reek of alcohol, then most states require a field sobriety test before they can ask for a breathalyzer or blood test

Remember, in today's world, a breathalyzer gives saliva on the tip of the mouthpiece (DNA) and of course blood would also give DNA.

And by the way, the breathalyzer, like most things you kangaroo fuckers use, was invented in the U.S.

I thought the cop was totally professional. I also looked up the case on the net - she blew 2 or 3 times the legal limit, so she earned her DUI. She could have killed someone.

As much of a financial mess this will be for her ( she isn't rich, as she was driving a 2001 honda) I am glad they got her off the road before she had an opportunity to kill someone, because that would be a lot of guilt for an 18 year old to hold on to. I hope this has a profound impact upon her life in a good way, but I'm guessing she will now just become "Internet" famous amongst her friends.

Maybe she's high on something other than alcohol.

Maybe she's intoxicated even though her blood alcohol level is below the level that automatically implies intoxication. It's either being above the legal limit OR showing other evidence of intoxication.

Cop did it right.
