Do not panic!

There have been reports of it brightening by an order of magnitude, and recent images are showing really nice structures in the comet's tail. Some of those could be from outbursts or jets, but more likely we are beginning to see the interaction with the solar wind.

It will soon decrease in magnitude again. ISON just hit a pocket of space dust which has increased its Cherenkov radiation output. Once it passes through the localized cloud of dust it will drop back down in magnitude.

Astromut is correct. Just on Sunday the magnitude was 7.02. It's Wednesday and it's in the 6.3s already and seems to be speeding up in brightness. We might get a nice show after all.

I dont think they will be needed. I mean if spending a few bucks on it makes you feel better, i won't say don't do it. I am not concerned about the cyanide. It is only a small part of what makes up the comet, and we will only pass through a small part of it, very dispersed too.
