O.o I hope not (central Ohioan here!)

Anyone know when the worst of this will hit central Ohio? I hope its not during the night...I've had a bad feeling all day today, the air felt heavy and "electric." The only other times I have had those feeling when my area got hit hard by tornadoes and/or wind storms.

Unfortunately it does appear to be a nighttime event with Ohio, which makes this scenario all the more dangerous.

Thanks for the warning. I'll keep a careful eye on the sky, then. Been around enough tornadoes to know what to watch and listen for, but never any big ones.

I'm new to all this extreme weather up here near the Great Lakes. A little over a week ago we had a nice severe storm blow through with, eh... maybe 50 mph winds for about 10 minutes or so. It was enough to knock the power out all around me, yet somehow the lights managed to stay on where I live I expect the lights to go out for sure this time.


So, with that said, when I get up tomorrow I plan to have the NOAA radio out along with some blankets and pillows if I end up having to hide out in the hallway in the house I'm in (we don't have a basement). I'm on a laptop, so if the lights go out, I can still run off the city wifi (so long as it's available) to give updates here.

I think I know the weather system you were referring to in your previous post above this one, lol. Right across the street a tree fell down and took down at the power lines for one side of the street but mine was fine :D I tend to have good luck when it comes to electricity.

And yeah, I don't have a basement either. I do have a 10 foot deep ditch in the backyard, well technically its a creek but its only usually a couple of inches deep, I wonder if that would be safer than my ancient house. Probably not lol, but we only have one interior room (a tiny bathroom)

Well, if it is an interior bathroom with no windows, Id say get in there and cover yourself up with pillows and blankets. I don't like how they say to get in a ditch and cover your head if you have no other shelter to get to. Everything turns into a flying projectile when a tornado is bearing down on you... I'd rather take a risk and get in my car, orient myself, and drive south/east away from the worst part of the storm if at all possible. Not smart I know, but.. take that or be outside with flying debris... Id attempt the former.


Anywho, I need to try and get some sleep before all this shit initiates early tomorrow (though I said that an hour ago )

As you wake up this morning, hopefully you are getting a plan in place for today's severe weather. As you should already know, we have been forecasting a severe weather outbreak for Indiana and Ohio for several days now. That severe weather outbreak will come to fruition today. A strong storm system will bring widespread damaging winds and tornadoes to Indiana and Ohio beginning late this morning and continuing through the evening. There is no way to time out individual storms but the timeframe that we are under the gun for dangerous weather is between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Supercells will initially develop over Illinois and move into Indiana after lunch. These storms will be capable of producing tornadoes and some violent tornadoes. Then a second round of storms will move into Indiana from west to east and will produce widespread damaging winds (squall line) during the late afternoon and into the evening hours. Please make sure you and your family are prepared. Today is a dangerous situation. Today is a day to take action if a warning is issued. Today is a day that if a tornado warning is issued, you immediately head to your interior room or basement. Take every possible precaution to keep you and your family safe. We will be here with you throughout the day.

We want to say that today is going to be a day that is hazardous the property and to human life. Don't panic, just stay calm and listen to instructions given by local law enforcement and media outlets. Be smart so you can stay safe! We will be posting watches and warnings as they come up and will pass them along to you! Take this storm system extremely serious! Some family members were at a football game in Carmel Indiana Friday night, the ref on the field had a heart attack died on the field and was resuscitated on the field at the exact same time a man in the stands had a seizure, subsequently then also had a heart attack on his way to the hospital and another grandfather died in the hospital from possibly the same ails.
