Ok, the woods behind my new house are really creepy at night. Even my dog is spooked out there and wants to go back inside.

Re: Ok, the woods behind my new house are really creepy at night. Even my dog is spooked out there and wants to go back inside.
I don't scare easy. I'm not afraid of the dark. I grew up surrounded by thick woods. Woods do not scare me. I am a strong and faithful woman and never let fear reign in my life. But, the woods behind my house have a strange energy. And, actually, my dog is scared and jumpy out there. And he doesn't fear anything.

Only at night.

Now the house I moved into is a historic old house. Its about 140 years old. The basement is pretty creepy too. The house is part of a group of historic houses that were some of the first homes built in this location.

I am a spiritual warrior. This is one of my spiritual gifts. So, buying into any of this creepy vibe is not going to happen. As a matter of fact, I immediately go into a calm and centered warrior stance.

My other gift is being extremely sensitive to supernatural and paranormal energy.

but...
my dog is spooked out there at night. and he loves being outside as long as I will let him. last night he got real jumpy and made a beeline for the door to go back inside the house. my dog is an enormous pyrenean mountain dog.
that's what's really got me buggin.

and when I go out there at night, I immediately feel a strong energy here, and it isn't a good one. whatever is at the core of it, it has no authority here and has to go. it has no idea who it's dealing with.

but only at night.
business is as usual during the day. energy returns to serene and is actually quite comforting.

anyway...The only animals I've seen out there are squirrels, rabbits, variety of birds, and a couple deer. No bears or anything like that.

puma (mountain lion) you can feel them staring at you. Dogs have reallygood smell and senses that we haven't honed yet. Start looking for scat back about 20 yrds in the tree line and get a hunting party together, mountain lions are night time hunters and take down large pets easily. At least a thought before freaking out over something that probably isn't paranormal.

the woods are on both sides of hills that meet in the middle with a small creek. on the side closest to the house there is a dead tree stump that looks like somebody standing there staring into the house. i am tempted to hack that thing to bits.

An older house, on a creek, hedged with old growth trees, in a small town...an old coal mining town. Welsh diaspora?

Do you feel, in your heart of hearts, it is malevolent spirit? Have you thought of using the stump as an altar to your God? Proclaiming your allegiance to and alliance with Jesus? Placing anointed items on the stump?

Only suggesting this tack as you mentioned being a Warrior. Sometimes it bears minding to donn a velvet glove ;-)

Sprinkle some holy water around, be good to get some night vision footage.

Something about this description jogs a vague memory of Feng Shui with me... like it is similar to examples I read somewhere of bad energy that needs to be adjusted.

Maybe look into that. There could be a simple fix to redirect the weird energy you are feeling.

Eventhough you say you are a protected "child of God", don't you think that makes you more of a target?

Not trying to scare you, but sometimes maybe they find that kind of a person as a challenge...

A lot of crazy suggestions on here. It's probably just an eerie place a night. I have similar near me with a canal bank. My dogs freak out and they're pretty nosy normally. I don't mind but feel the anxious energy from the dogs. I took my brother once to show him and he said I'm never going there again in the dark.

But there was no cougars, no feng Sui or anything out of the ordinary. Just a dark natural place. The dogs were just more in tune with new sounds and how quiet it can be.

funny tidbit:
when i first got here, i was exhausted from the long journey. drove 1500 miles across a few days, then as soon as i got here unloaded all my stuff. by the end of the night when everyone left, i went outside with the dog and there was this bright blinking stationery white light in the sky, really close. im watching it wondering what it is. too tired to still be standing, i mean dog tired. so, i went in the house still wondering what it was. wasn't a plane or helicopter. it made no sound, etc. Next night i realize it is some type of tower/antenna. right above the property. lol....

i need a man. no, seriously. i think i have been holding down the homestead on my own too long....

My Mom always told me to check a house at night if I wanted to buy it as things are a lot different at night. Farms are beautiful during the day but very different in the dark

I live about 30 yards from an old gold mine. It is on my property in fact. I have never seen anything but I can tell you that the place is unique. I think somebody is still trying to find his fortune.

We also find tons of Indian Artifacts as well. I am afraid to show anybody cause i am sure the government would try to take my land. I think we are located on some sort of old camp or something or a place where they made arrowheads, axes etc. We find all sorts of primitive hand tools especially when we prepare the garden in the fall and spring.

I think folks are still roaming around but they don't do anything to us, or it is all in my head and 100% paranoia. My dogs are couch potato's now as well.

I used to live in the country in Ohio, lots of Big Foot sightings and weird small fires spotted next to country roads., also the Mothman sightings. I used to be so scared when something would bang on the side of the house. I lived alone then
