Sprinkle some holy water around, be good to get some night vision footage.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50089636

the woods are on both sides of hills that meet in the middle with a small creek. on the side closest to the house there is a dead tree stump that looks like somebody standing there staring into the house. i am tempted to hack that thing to bits.
 Quoting: Salt

pics of the creepyness would be awesome!
 Quoting: T-Man

that's the thing. i think i painted a picture of this dense dark woods and its not. its a small area of some trees on a couple hills with a creek in the middle. a small gulch. houses behind it and my house in front. its in the middle of town so there's traffic on the road in front of my house constantly. its a typical pennsylvania neighborhood.

i will take a couple pics, but its hardly a home for sasquatch or anything like that. the area is small but the energy is dense.

Where are you located? Have you checked into anything about the area, the history? It's possible there could have been battles in the woods, or even something unknown relating to indians. Our house isn't haunted but I've had a (very few) things happen, and one time I did try to record EVPs and I swear I heard indian drums. My mother swears she heard them once when she was outside smoking at 2 AM, and at one point I found out the guy who built our house traded with the indians. Thankfully no evil or scary feelings though.
 Quoting: Laura Bow

when i was a kid, i lived in an old farmhouse in this area built by the same family that owns the house i live in now. both houses are historic. anyway, the area behind the house i lived in as a kid was called Hangman's Hollow. Apparently, indians were killed and hung there during the war. it was also one of the houses that Night of the Living Dead was filmed. i was like 9 yrs old when we moved there and i remember sneaking a paperback book from my mom's room called Amityville Horror and read it against my mother's wishes. THAT house skeered the livin shit outta me. i will never forget how scared I was inside and out of that old house the entire time we lived there. never a day of relief.

I always 'listen' to my dog, esp. the last one that I had for 15 years. RIP Karmael. He was NEVER wrong. The one I have now - not so much. The dog I have now is a little strange. She's little and tried to chase a possum and another time a raccoon that was bigger than her. *

Anyway, in my total experience with my dogs, I can't think of one thing they were seemingly afraid of or ran from.

Maybe it's like someone else said, just a change in environment for the doggie.
 Quoting: Ms. Superduper

i met a couple people who have the same breed dog as me and when they reached a certain age they became total wimp-asses. not sure if they were made that way or not. my dog has no wimpy in him so far. but, when he beelined for the house on two separate nights, that was so out of character for him. usually, he wants to stay outside as long as possible. esp because we have been gone a lot the past few days with family stuff and he has been in the house alone for a few hours at a stretch.

i'm sure its the new environs. but, wanting to go back in the house is so strange for him.

my dog is spooked out there at night. and he loves being outside as long as I will let him. last night he got real jumpy and made a beeline for the door to go back inside the house. my dog is an enormous pyrenean mountain dog.
that's what's really got me buggin.

and when I go out there at night, I immediately feel a strong energy here, and it isn't a good one. whatever is at the core of it, it has no authority here and has to go. it has no idea who it's dealing with.

but only at night.

 Quoting: Salt

There was a murder in those wood; a woman... bound and gagged and then struck many times. The killer is someone she knew and trusted; maybe a family member.

It is her spirit there-- at night... in the dark... when nobody can hear... because nobody will come near the place in the night... in the dark.

You must leave before dark comes...

Or, alternatively, you must help her to find rest by finding justice in her name.

When something spookz a big ass tough dog, you better get a gun and stay in that house at night.

See, I know how the occult works and you being a skittish bible babbler makes it worse. The unknown knows your will and it makes game of that.

There are things of darkness, twilight creatures that roam the edge of reality watching, waiting for that moment when it can intrude and harm you or your dog.

It manifest in many forms but the form you fear most is the sixth sense form that goes unseen but is as real as real can be when it takes you from your reality that you've learned to trust and shows you its reality and how easy it is for it to reach out to you.

Don't fool yourself thinking you're stronger and have a god standing with you cause that's the very wish it's testing you for as it steps closer.

There is something in our world that can take your mind and twist reality where you will find yourself in a weird situation of time and space distortion and if your not powerful enough, may loose your way and become entangled there to never be seen again.

This can happen in the day or the night but the night is more frightening, for sure.

If your simply making this up, than fine. But if your revealing the truth of the situation, be very careful what you do or say to it. Animals know way more than any human will in an occult confrontation. Their fear should warn you of something horrible awaiting you in those woods.

Water in that area is how it travels so stay away if you wanna be safe. Leave it alone and it may show you one of its many forms some day or night as you look out the window.

they are real, but not in a physical way. so they cannot hurt you physically. if you want, go outside and yell at the sky the devil can go his way, and surly you will slip and fall, and the psychological becomes real.

I feel like this May be a dream reaching through. I never get heart throbbingly scared unless I am dreaming. At that point I know it is time to wake up. Sometimes these dreams seep through to my awakened thoughts and as I recall them the" look out " feelings happen. I become hyper aware of how the people/ animals/plants seem to become more active to my awareness. It's weird I know but I see it and own it.spider for me

I only read from the first page but I thought it might be worth mentioning Feng shui. I was talking with a friend who grew up in Taiwan but is not an expert in Feng Shui but knew some stuff because it was normal for his familly to consult with practitioners as he grew up. One thing he knew about was how people would build structures so that they do not jut ou towards natural water flows. In other words the corner of a structure would never be pointing towards water. There would always be smooth straight walls moving in the direction of the water or sometimes round walls.

I dont know how your home is situated with the water on or near your property but with the confluence you mentioned....

Idk everything but I do think there is something to Feng Shui having lived in a room That is bad Feng Shui myself and having had lets just say strange encounters there. For me taking down mirrors that face entrances and such has actually reduced the negative energy. Much more to this story but anyway Idk kind of hokey but im with you and not afraid of ghosts.
You cannot destroy my vision when you see my vision undestroyed because I am just an undestroyer.

I know the feeling Salt.

When I was a kid growing up in Redmond, WA, I lived near large forested areas, where i would explore (never at night due to an odd energy I got from them).

Even during the day, I would occasionally get that "thick, dense" energy sensation from the surrounding woods.

I remember vividly having the thought as a child, that the woods, harbored many spirits. Both good and bad. That's what it felt like to me at least and I still remember the sensations to this day.

and outside, the storm whips itself into a frenzy. you worry about the roof tearing apart and the basement flooding. will the car have a flat or will the battery be dead.

will the dog get loose and kill a cat? do not worry, trust in God. But it works, to trust in God.

i wonder if the fear of woods at night is some leftover caveman instinctual response?

I'd have to agree with that speculation. Naturally, any animal that is devoid of important senses (smell, sight, hearing) at certain times of the day, avoid being outside at those times. Probably safe to assume, we got our asses eaten if we went out in the dark back in those days lol

I started reading thru this and couldn't get thru 10 pages, but not sure what has been discussed. I have the same thing going on out the north side of my house at night. I have lived here 5 years, and the front door faces north. It has always felt creepy that way, and only at night. I have also seen a spirit move thru that corner of the cabin, but not for a long time now. This is not an old cabin, this is not an old neighborhood. I live in the mountains of Montana. I have tried many times to step outside at night to stargaze in that direction, don't like it. I also am a spiritual warrior. And I have chased away more then one unwanted wandering spirit. And have had my share of run ins with the paranormal. This is also, just plain creepy. It has gotten better over the years, or I have gotten use to it. The spirit doesn't travel thru the corner of our cabin anymore. But something lingers outside in the dark , to the north.
