What I'm curious about is how this would affect the relationship between the US and Israel. Israel and the Saudis are capable of attacking Iran without us, but they still need our support and this would create a lot of turmoil.

They were useless as an ally. As a former Israeli paratrooper, I must point out that there is a reason they call it the IDF. DF means DEFENSE FORCE. They can pull off long distance operations like the raid on Entebbe, Osirak, and my personal favourite Operation Solomon, spearheaded by current COS Benny Gantz, but they don't have the logistics or the will to fight a much larger enemy far from their borders. The Mossad? When the Mossad wants a job done right, they hire Palestinians or foreigners, like everyone else in Israel. Israel is not going to war with Iran.
