Part of the problem is that the teachers are sub par these days.

They were poorly educated and like a copy of a copy, the system just keeps degrading.

I think (at least partially) the Common Core is because the teachers are too dumb to teach.

It's about time they tell people who sit on command, ask nicely to take a piss and wait till they are told to eat that they are NOT brilliant. As a matter of fact they are a dumb as a box of rocks. Their confusion of obedience and intelligence is why we all suffer today.

Imagine if he had said, black inner city moms upset their kids aren't brilliant.

Major black seizures, every TV station in America runs weeks of programming about white privilege and white racism. The double standard has become beyond disgusting.

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan told a group of state schools superintendents Friday that he found it “fascinating” that some of the opposition to the Common Core State Standards has come from “white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were, and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were.”

The government doesn't want teachers to teach. The want numbers, business models. Kids don't fit business models. Kids need to be taught how to live, not how to take tests. Some kids need 8 years of education while others probably need close to 20.

The government knows they are producing stooges. And they keep coming up with more programs to ensure kids become stooges and nothing more.

College is not for everyone, the smartest people I know didn't go...
 Quoting: davvi

I started college when I was 15. I was also running 2 businesses. I dropped out of college because I could not see a future in it. I left no debt, and was making $100k a year back when all my college grad friends were making $27k.

I didn't go to university again until I was in my 40's, and frankly, did it just for grins (because I am not a sports fan, nor do I have any other expensive hobbies). I was also able to pick and choose my professors, hence able to avoid the avalanche of libtardedness that buries the typical unwary student.

If you go into debt for a university degree today in America, you totally deserve to live with your parents, forever.

That's awesome...sounds like you're a born entrepreneur. I see a lot of that in my oldest and do everything I can to encourage those instincts.

I went to an expensive private college and got degrees in psychology and literature, along with a secondary teaching certificate. My parents paid my tuition and I will always be incredibly grateful to them for that.

I taught middle school and high school English for several years before my kids were born, so I did use my degrees but not as much as you would think. In addition to homeschooling our boys this is what I do now:

artsy

I make and sell art jewelry, and I've never been happier. I make enough money with it to contribute to vacations and other odds and ends but I'm working on growing my brand.

When I think of all the supplies I could have bought with all the money that went into my college education it makes me cringe.
I don't know where you get your delusions, laser brain.

Then the guy who hired him could reopen the school as a private charter school for profit. From there he was appointed to run the Chicago public school system. He then shut down school after schools which were turned in to private charter schools & military academies.

Chicago is still the most segregated large city school system in the country still to this day because of that man.

He wants to do the same thing with all the schools in the country, run them in to the ground and close them, then have friends of his reopen them as private schools, it’s his standard MO. Easiest way to do it is screw the students by teaching less than complaining when the students graduate unable to even go to community colleges.

He wants to make public education so bad there is no choice, you MUST send your kids to private charter school, it's working...

Now to align it with Bill Gates

Snip; Small schools were the silver bullet Gates thought would transform secondary education.

In fact, he declared traditional high schools "obsolete."

He was wrong. Gates, who retired as the chief of Microsoft in 2008, and who now runs the Gates Foundation, the world’s largest philanthropy, later conceded as much, saying that most of the money did not come close to accomplishing its goals, and much was wasted.

“Many of the small schools that we invested in did not improve students’ achievement in any significant way,” he wrote in his 2009 annual report about the foundation's workings, excerpts of which were published in the Washington Post.

He said, further, that schools that did not succeed were not bold enough in their reforms. He didn't say that perhaps the theory that small schools were the answer to the problems in city schools was flawed.

Now Gates is aligning himself with reform initiatives championed by President Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan. In fact, Gates helped out their $4 billion Race to the Top competition, which asks states to vie for federal education dollars by submitting proposals that include reforms Duncan favors. The foundation gave as much as $250,000 to each of 15 states so they could hire consultants to write their applications.

The initiatives that Duncan favors include the expansion of charter schools and judging teachers in part by how their students do on standardized tests. Much of the research on charter schools shows that they do no better than regular public schools with student achievement, and there is no evidence at all that linking teacher pay to test scores helps teachers improve.

One more while I'm on the rant

Arne Duncan and the Chicago Success Story: Myth or Reality?

Snip; With the appointment by Barack Obama of Arne Duncan — a noneducator from the business sector who was Chicago's "chief executive officer" — as U.S. Secretary of Education, this phenomenon may repeat itself. For the past several years, Chicago's model of school closings and education privatization has received national attention as another beacon of urban education reform.

Bla bla bla, you should read it

Snip2; However, the larger agenda has been corporate and privatizing.

But Chicago Public Schools (CPS) policies are not really about Duncan or his successor. The biggest threat to finally achieving equitable and quality education in Chicago's low-income African American and Latino/a schools is not the individual who carries out the policy but a system of mayoral control and corporate power that locks out democracy. The impact of those policies includes thousands of children displaced by school closings, spiked violence as they transferred to other schools, and the deterioration of public education in many neighborhoods into a crisis situation.

K-12 in the USA is crap, crap, crap
 Quoting: Mr. Predictor

Preplanned and preordained.
Our educational system, over the last 50 years, has been systematically deconstructed and reconstructed as planned by the communist party.

The Techniques of Communism:
INVADING EDUCATION

CHAPTER X: 208-248 (1954)

by Louis F. Budenz

"IN UNDERMINING a nation such as the United States, the infiltration of the educational process is of prime importance. The Communists have accordingly made the invasion of schools and colleges one of the major considerations in their psychological warfare designed to control the American mind. By such "cultural" work, the Soviet fifth column obtains an influence, directly or indirectly, over at least a portion of American youth."

[link to www.biblebelievers.org.au]

The American Civil Liberty Union commonly know as the ACLU, was created by an agnostic socialist, Roger Baldwin in 1920. In his thirtieth-anniversary Harvard University classbook he wrote, "I am for Socialism, disarmament, and ultimately the abolishing of the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal."

The ACLU has had countless law suits to get prayer and Bible reading removed from public schools. (See Communist goal 28 above.) In several land-mark, U.S. Supreme Court decision they were successful in getting Prayer, Bible Reading and the Ten Commandments removed from public schools. They have sued school boards and cities across the country in an effort to remove all traces of God from American society. They routinely demand removal of the Ten Commandments in court houses and in public parks. Crosses at War Memorials they claim is in violation of the "Separation of Church and State" principle, which only exist in the old Soviet Union Constitution but not the United States Constitution. In recent years they attack Christmas displays by hauling local officials to court to sue them. Many cities fearing bankruptcy simply cave in to save court fees and possible fines. The late DR. D. James Kennedy called the ACLU, the Anti Christian Legal Union. (To learn more See book, The ACLU vs America, by Alan Sears.)

AMERICA HAS BEEN DUPED BY THE COMMUNIST PARTY AGENDA.

Seriously, how is it anti white? Our CC aligned tests were harder than the ones they replaced, but they were fair tests.

Now, maybe other states are not like NY. I can only report what's happening here in NY state.

Harvard educated scum who was appointed by a Princeton educated POS friend of his to run the worst school Chicago which he purposefully ran in to the ground to close it. Then the guy who hired him could reopen the school as a private charter school for profit. From there he was appointed to run the Chicago public school system. He then shut down school after schools which were turned in to private charter schools & military academies.

Chicago is still the most segregated large city school system in the country still to this day because of that man.

That's GOOD though. It means that the whites aren't held back or bused into schools that are dangerous for them. Both common blacks and common whites prefer segregated neighborhood schools, going to school with kids like their own. This was obvious when the blacks complained about being bused to "better" white schools. I can't blame them!

They're getting what they want. A poor, ignorant, easily amused and extremely racist population. By turning everyone against each other and making everyone a villain, it will be that much easier to grab more power.

The entire country is about to go the way of Cook County.

The way to turn blacks and whites against each other is integration. Segragation allows each to have an appropriate environment and the normal good wishes for others can exist where there is no conflict because the schools are separate.

Re: Arne Duncan: ‘White suburban moms’ upset that Common Core shows their kids aren’t ‘brilliant’
One of the aspects of Communist Core that hasn’t been discussed at any great length is the idea of creating a new generation, a new work force that has been educated in a specific way.

The plan is to know whether they are going to be a technician, a mechanic or a doctor. And then you funnel them through that system.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”
