I'm a teacher and they're ramming common core down our throats. Not only do we have state standards to contend with, but also the "communist core" curriculum. Unfortunately, to the corporate takeover going on in the public school systems across the nation, it is the only way they see progress. It's all about numbers to them, not actually educating children. In order to get federal funding because the states are so broke, they bend over and take whatever the mandate comes down the pike. In other words "never let a good crisis go to waste". We are turning into a socialist country and nobody seems to care.
