Usually Betelgeuse is redder than Mars in my 15x70 binos but last night it was yellowish and Mars was dark orangish.

Got about 100,000 years yet. I doubt you have access to the technology to see its true colour.

If it's 100,000 light years away it just blew up.
By the time we see the blast it will be too late.

Betelgeuse is 600 light years from Earth.

that means that when we see its Super-Nova explosion occur,
that means that it actually happened 600 years ago, and
we are just now seeing it (because that's how long it
took the light from the explosion to reach earth.)

(note: it take sun light 8 minutes to reach Earth, at
only 93,000,000 miles away)

and, any material plasma or bowling balls, or stuff like that,
will take at least 1200 years to reach us, because they
will only be traveling at half the speed of light.

Yes you are correct. If Betelgeuse went supernova it happened 600 years ago and we are about to witness it today. Also, 600 years ago was BLACK DEATH in Europe, which would have happened at the exact time Betelguese went supernova.

Are you serious? A star will not change colors to show you it's going Supernova. Your atmosphere probably was really unstable. You realize it it went supernova you won't see it in your lifetime, correct?

To be fair, it may have already gone supernova. It almost certainly hasn't though.

Light takes awhile to get here from Betelgeuse.
