I would love to get one, but I think they would not meet the 15 inch chest rule here at condos. Maybe I'll move. Ha. Yeah. I'd sell for a reason like that. As a matter of fact she is a great sport and we will go for long walks (although she needs to build some resistence/stamina bc she gets tired fairly easily- and play fetch and she has never gotten in trouble or responded to other dogs. She always eats each and every dog kibble on her plate. She's torn apart way too many things but oh well... she'll grow up... I hope so... She is not too big, but my guess is she will be normal, yet on the smaller side of the spectrum. I'm always reminding her: Mommy is not a toy! But boys are like dogs and you need to remind them: My heart is not a toy! |

She is great in the sense that she has really strong jaws, but let's me open her mouth and take anything from inside it and now she is allowing my mom to do the same. I want her to be really safe to have around people and kids too. My poodle wouldn't open his jaws if the stuff was too yummy. I miss him though. |

My friend has a collie and the collie ignores my little dog because she prefers to bark at cars whenever possible. Quoting: Ms. Superduper My doggie is amazed at the size of the collie. It's funny to watch her amazement at collie's size. My poodle was obsessed with black labradors. Maybe that's the reason i got a labby. My mom was always wondering why. Every dog is special. He used to have nightmares as a puppy and he would start moving his legs while asleep and looked terrified. I waked him up and he was ok afterwards. Then it passed as he grew older. |

And, no foofy grooming, right? Well, the poodle was very high maintenance. This bitch needs less baths. I'll bathe her tomorrow, actually. Shedding isn't as bad as they paint it! Get a brush for your clothes and clean your house as usual... a vaccum helps. But it isn't really bad at all and she always looks good and well groomed unlike long haired dogs. No hair cuts! For a former poodle owner the difference is amazing and money saving too! He was skinny but he ate a lot, so there is not much of a difference in food expenses. |

I now have a poodle mix (for 3.5 years). She was a neglected dog that a friend of a friend rescued and I ended up with her. After my giant macho male cocker spaniel passed, I was kind of looking at the shelters for 'the one'. She is a sweetie pie and loves me so much. The grooming has to be kept to a minimum. I cut her hair and wash her but have to take her to get her feet hair cut and nails cut so she gets 'the works' every now and then. I think she might like a sibling though - maybe. I'mpossible User ID: 7497543 United States 11/17/2013 10:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We've had three Labbies, two chocolate females and one yellow male. All unique in personality. Shedding...Spring is heavy duty shed, especially if they have both a downy undercoat and topcoat. They need a daily light brushing and weekly deep brushing. Expect to be "detufting" as fluffy clumps come loosened. Fall is lighter shed, as the finer Summer coat changes into a Winter coat. They need daily brushings to encourage the Winter coat to come in properly and not get matted down. Some Labbies never get the downy undercoat. Possibly due to selective breeding & genetics for upland game hunting rather than water fowl. Our current Lab only has the water repellant topcoat. She does need daily brushings although can go about a week between. Problem is she gets a little "doggie". Their coats have a protective oiliness. Labs are HIGH maintenance when it comes to activity levels. They are hunting dogs after all. That's why you'll see so many Labs as "give ups". It isn't until very later years they'll be couch potatoes. If then. They're also garbage scows. Labbies and food are like peanut butter and chocolate LoL. They also tend to, let's politely say, corpulence. Hip dysplaysia is not uncommon...I think due to owners overfeeding from a young age. They're also perpetual goofballs with deadly tails, clumsy paws, slobbering jowls, lolling tongues, and enormous hearts. Thanks for sharing such a fun vid. And HooRaha for Labbies!
