They have depth that no other bass has. Funny you posted this thread. I was screwing around with my bass (Ibanez SDGR 5 string with custom Bartolinis) this afternoon adding a live non-keyboard bassline to this song....just for the hell of it...no other reason other than it amused me. |

Of design he created thus; his own waste providing his own food, and all that he did or suffered taking place in and by himself. For the Creator conceived that a being which was self-sufficient would be far more excellent than one which lacked anything; and, as he had no need to take anything or defend himself against any one, the Creator did not think it necessary to bestow upon him hands: nor had he any need of feet, nor of the whole apparatus of walking; but the movement suited to his spherical form which was designed by him, being of all the seven that which is most appropriate to mind and intelligence; and he was made to move in the same manner and on the same spot, within his own limits revolving in a circle. All the other six motions were taken away from him, and he was made not to partake of their deviations. And as this circular movement required no feet, the universe was created without legs and without feet.” -Plato |

There were some "hell yeah" riffs in that... like the synth guitar solos (if that's what that was) I was like DAMM DANNGGG fuck yeah... Nice |

The second guy flowed....the first one not so much. He was more mechanical on the strings. Some people FEEL music.....others can play it but don't feel it. As for the video. I think that synth version sounds better than the original in the video at the bottom... ...but to be fair, when they made Miami Vice and Jan Hammer did the soundtracks, 8bit was the shizzle...that was state of the art back then. lol Yeah, the synth guitar solos would be great with a real guitar and some foot pedal compression/noise. I'm just adding a bassline to it for fun. I still haven't got one that I like with it, but it was a fun way to piss away a rainy Sunday afternoon and relax. Here's the original....new synth sounds much better. Last Edited by Useless Cookie Eater on 11/17/2013 09:34 PM |
