Deleted my post as well I see. Says more about what I posted than u think.

Strange how your posts don't get deleted on other threads, yet u feel the need to delete mine. I wasn't mean, aggressive, rude....just asked a question.

Too close to home?

Hardly. I have no problem arguing it with him, he thinks I'm a shill, he's dead wrong so how could I possibly lose. He wins though in that it derails the thread. Soooo many threads have been derailed because I've had to defend myself against the accusations. At least here I can stop him dead in his tracks.

Thank you Dr. Astro for you info and the links. I would love to see Ison and hope it will survive its path around the sun. I was worried that CME could have broken it and Ison would melt away... Hope this does not happen. So far the morning Sky here was always cloudy, maybe tomorrow morning I can get a glimpse.

I know it might be hard for all you neanderthal worker ants and bees to comprehend, but some assignments have quite a bit of 'waiting' time in betwixt the actual elements of said job requirements. Say for instance you're stationed down at McMurdo and are tired of watching MacGyver reruns while waiting for your batch samples to be sliced...lo and behold the lure of a siren's song enchants you...an internet chat room filled with uneducated morons who have opinions they confuse with facts so mundanely pedestrian they create complex webs of utter crap and call it a conspiracy. I mean you could keep on watching those MacGyver reruns, but let's face it, they're even worse... or you could try to beat that case of insomnia tilting with retards....which naturally begs another question, lost I'm sure upon the majority here, and alas the very ether this little old world floats upon. Ah well, there is always that proof on transcendental idealism...

Can they fix it or was that a $10 million dollar fail?

Would you call that a NASA fail?

Or is putting a camera on a balloon so revolutionary and new no one expected them to fail?

You called it ISON. It's BRRISON. I don't know of any plans to get it operational in time for ISON, but I don't have any contacts on that particular team. The equipment will likely be recycled for another mission later, probably with a different target.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36226787

The mission wasn't stopped in September, no, but they don't use the spacecraft constantly either. Most of the time it's just idling. Deep space network time is a precious and over-tapped resource used by every single deep space mission simultaneously. Furthermore, they were understaffed as it was in terms of operating the Deep Impact spacecraft. It was a very minor priority in the grand scheme of things. The purpose and intent of trying to get the later observations was to acquire the comet while it was still difficult or impossible to see from earth's perspective. There's no more point in that since we can see it equally well from earth now.

I don't know how people orient to a sky map. I don't. Everything is round! I do better with plain, old squares! Orbital dynamics makes my brain hurt.

Which is why I'm glad we have folks like you and twenty others around these forums who know how to figure that shit out, because I sure don't.

Is NASA still Hard at work at fixing BRISSON?

And.

New HUBBLE Images of ISON would be nice.

What could possibly be more interesting than ISON that Professionals are busy with?
 Quoting: NewThor

Why do you assume that Ison is interesting? I mean, i get that it is interesting to us here, but in the end it is a comet. why should it merit special attention from nasa that would go above and beyond the norm for comets? Comets are common. Ison is one of the rarer types, but not so rare that the world has to stop and watch in awe.

Because people are starting to find it odd that he spends 18 hours a day on GLP discrediting everything to do with ISON. He smells, walks, and talks like a shill. That, or he's obsessed with this shit.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28989498

Personally, I believe it to be the latter. Astro has seemingly forgot some very basic rules about online debating. One of the most important rules he has forgotten about is image. Even if Astro is 100% in any of his assessments or predictions about ISON, his very image alone when cause people not to care.

Astro is indeed obsessed about ISON, whether he wants to admit it or not, and due to him being a paid subscriber to the site and his green karma that he can use to pin whatever he wants to, there is not a single thing you can do to stop him other than using a browser script to filter out his name and any posts/threads made by him.

Ultimately, only time will tell which argument is the correct one.

Because this forum is fucking filled with stupid internet rednecks, thats why. You're not interested on proof, evidence or facts. You're mantaining and supporting this delusional ISON psy ops and I don't know why. Maybe you need to believe in something extraordinary because your life sucks, maybe you take this forum only to get some fun so when somebody present you the facts, you act like little angry dumbfucks, I don't fucking know honestly, why oh why you prefer to live in the shadows of the ignorance.

What I know is that I'm so fed up with this ISON bullshit that I can't take it anymore. All of you are lost, are completely delusional and naive, uninformed and idiotic human beings.

A) this is a conspiracy forum. So it's like you are bitching about Football on a football forum.

B) NASA announced ISON as Comet of the Century. Maybe you don't know that. Well. It is true. So NASA started it and then bowed out of the game, so NON-professionals guys like me, Bruce, BPEarthwatch had to fill their shoes. We didn't start it, but we will finish it.

C) I can sense you are no champion of anything. Can you tell us what you do that makes you so superior? Can you show us your works?

D) such anger at people you don't even know makes it sound like you don't understand life at all.
