UnmannedAerialPilot User ID: 50323572 United States 11/20/2013 09:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A move in the right direction... I was denied a Concealed Carry permit here in Athens, because I got a possession of marijuana charge when I was 18 years old in Virginia. That was over 12 years ago. I talked to the Sheriff as to WHY he denied me, and he said the law was passed in 2011 that ANY drug charge makes you ineligible for a Concealed Permit. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I served 8 years Active Duty military after that, where I carried weapons all the time, and you idiotic legislatures think because of a mistake someone makes as a kid they are not to be trusted with a concealed gun? This is how twisted the logic is: someone breaks the law by doing drugs, so you make ANOTHER law that says they can't carry a concealed gun now. Why would they obey that one, if they are criminals? Or is it really just an excuse to make another law, so the judge that owns stock in the local PRIVATE jail has a reason to put you in it and collect some fresh greenback? The war on drugs is really a war on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 10th Amendments (probably a lot more if I thought about it long enough)... |

Banned as usual. “It is far easier to be a weakling than to be a Real Man. Were the Earth less harsh or the circumstances of life less austere, man would destroy himself before the shrine of the languid goddess. Only Real Men can with safety destroy the tangled forests and wilderness of Earth and make from them gardens, but will those who inherit the gardens be Real Men? The law decrees that they must be, or the wilderness will reclaim its own.” |

It is on the person who uses lethal force to prove it was in self defense. Unlike in Florida where the state has to prove otherwise. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47485216 In addition it does allow for additional reciprocity along with other commonsense legislation, such as vets and their spouses among other things when it comes to purchasing firearms. Overall everything I know about it, a good law |
