The latest LASCO C3 image has some kind of an artifact obscuring the field. it is located partly where I believe ISON will be. Looks interesting [link to www.picshare.ru]

It won't appear on SOHO until next week.
[link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov]
It is on STEREO Ahead's HI1 today though. I don't like the way the jpgs are processed when it comes to comets on the HI imagers, so here's my processing of the latest Ahead HI1 beacon image.

No not perihelion in 3 hrs.....it will go around the sun in 3 hrs....right?
Wow 3 hrs.
...

I found it!

at 1:50 into the video this astronomer from University of Tennessee says ISON will whip around the sun in 3 hours.

I would assume it would be a couple of days before we see her coming out from around back for the same reason we are about to lose sight of her in the next day or so.....

??

That's not right is it?

I thought the 28th?
 Quoting: BadMoonRisen

 Quoting: sreglof23

Yes that is what the astronomer in the video says. It is picking up speed every second it approaches the sun.

dunno
 Quoting: BadMoonRisen

On the 28th it will take only three hours to go around the backside of the sun. It will then take a few more days before it is far enough away from the sun for it to become visible from Earth again......
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50306947

Wait...I thought that it will be MOST visible to the naked eye (if it survives) on thanksgiving? Are you saying that we will not see it until 3 or 4 days after?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2837288

We will lose sight of it shortly. We won't be able to see images of it because we will be "blinded by the light" of the sun. If it survives its journey around, we should get a spectacular sight as it makes its way out of the solar system.

Post: #60

Lot's of meteors and asteroids are on their way shortly. The age of the asteroid is beginning, and it will last at least a few years.

Ison is the first car of the train to arrive late fall or early winter, and its a very very long train. Why do I use the word train? Because they'll be coming in one after the other like train cars following behind one another.

But first lots of small meteors coming in this summer.

It will be moving at 0.2% the speed of light! That’s far faster than any human-made space probe has ever traveled. And the only propulsion it uses is gravity.

Yes, but it's much dimmer and harder to see. You can see it moving downwards in this animation I put together covering 11/20 to 11/21 (it's between Mercury and Earth in the images):
[link to img43.imageshack.us]

Pardon the jumpiness, the beacon images are not collected at even intervals, only when stations are available to collect them, so it's a bit jumpy.
