What really kills me is the majority of us will never be millionares from working and trying to get ahead. There are people who are barely scraping by who would never think of taking welfare of food stamps.

The whole point of the American dream is to work hard, get ahead become wealthy, own land, a home, ect, but when you think about it, the people working minimum wage, or up to $15 an hour, living in an apartment, they might as well just give up and take assistance. Think about it. The system is completely destroyed.

Shame became a four letter word.

Shame has now been labeled as a "bad" thing, but it served an important purpose. It kept people from falling into self-defeating and society killing behaviors. It kept a society functioning under a level of morality without having to legistlate that moralityt, which never works.

It's sickening that we sink to these levels but our "kinder, gentler" society tells us we're still "good" people. I'm a freeloader, a whore, an absentee father, a drug dealer, but hey...I'm a "good" person.

There's a young man with Down's Syndrome who works at a local grocery store here. He's there bright and early every morning greeting people at the door. He gives them carts, hands them the weekly ad, and even helps older people put groceries in their car. He loves his job and he's always telling the customers how happy he is to be able to work. I'm sure he receives other assistance, as he should, but he's working.

Those who don't even try, fall far lower on the intellect scale.

They definitely need to do drug testing. There are people who are genuinely disabled who can't get any assistance after working fulltime for 40 years, yet this woman gets all kinds of help and obviously never worked in her life. Shameful.

There is no promise of becoming a millionaire, never has been, never will be, but you can work hard and own a home and own land, but not if youd rather play the victim card and not even try.

That's what made the U.S different before. We didn't make excuses or complain, we worked. We were prosperous, and innovative. Now we are lazy, entitled and in decline. It's not a coincedence that these things coincide with each other.

My oldest son who is will be 34 in March is disabled and has always qualified for disability but doesn't want it. He works for a supermarket stocking shelves, etc. He can't really do math and some other stuff but he's always worked.

He also managed to get married and have two beautiful sons. He is my inspiration now and always.
