Good evening everyone. It's clearing up here. At least for a couple of hours. Perhaps I'll be able to spot and photograph ISON, perhaps not. We haven't had clear skies for over six months now. Really a shame :(

Me either. Went last night to see the sunset, and there's the fucking clouds again. Clear as could be everywhere in the sky......except at the horizon. Starting to really piss me off.

I froze most of my body parts off scouting for Miss ISON, under a clear sky. I don't think she wants to reveal herself in all that beauty just yet. Then after a couple of hours the clouds rolled in and it started snowing. The weather service is giving our next clear sky window in another week. So no luck for me tonight sadly. Maybe someone else would have more fortune in scouting that comet out.

Details:

While imaging sunspots we observed a fast-moving satellite with a long boom arm crossing the field of view. This sequence spans 36 milliseconds of real time. The object was moving East at 1 degree per second. Lunt LS100 solar telescope.
