I have to make presentation for tommorow for college - BUT I'M TOO LAZY!!

I already told you to grow up. You aren't meant for college. Get into trade school and then get yourself a job and move out of your mother's place. Not everyone is capable of doing college work. I'm sorry to break it to you. My son is in the same basic boat that you are in. You are going to be a blue collar laborer, get used to it and get busy.

I don't know how to make you want to do it. What would make you want to do it? Might have to learn and practice.the delayed gratification process.

I hate talking in front of people, so in college speech class i'd get drunk before I had to make speeches....it works.

I know you grew up in a generation where everyone got a trophy in the retard race. But this is real life now and you just need to understand your place in it. There is no shame. It just is, what it is.

As schools are in break for the holiday, what do you have to lose? Show up, make your presentation.

join toastmasters it will help you do presentations in front of people comfortably. This will help you with making presentation in front of your college class.

I'll drink 3 beers and brush my tooth twice. That will help.

Just remember this. You are one day soon going to be entering the most competitive job market in history. You will not only be competing against many already experienced unemployed Americans, but also cheaper labor in our new "flat" world.

So, who the hell is going to hire you if you can't get off your ass and do a presentation for a simple college course.

and this is not a bad thing. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters make very good money.

i have to fucking do 3 assignments each week, which are around 3-4 pages for each assignment and have a specific deadline on one day. Im only 16 as well, man the fuck up OP and do yourself a favour by having good time management. Or go get a job

Prepare a 7 minute presentation and stall. Take dramatic breaks. Drink water. Ask for question after each section, then reiterate what you just said to kill time and reinforce whatever fucking lame ass point you were making. Deliver the speech slowly as well. Don't get all nervous and speed read it. Finally put it all together. Scan your final paragraph, look around the room in a commanding way, take a sip of water,calmly and slowly read the three sentence, ask for questions, repeat the three sentence placing emphasis on every verb, take a sip of water, and stall by being overly profuse in your respect and gratitude for all those in attendance.

I had to preform this routine before and did well. All the pausing and drinking helps you, especially if you are uncomfortable in front of large groups of people.

Truly, my blue-collar-job friends make a LOT more money than my suit-&-tie friends. We're all in our 30s and 40s. Those of us making the least money are the ones who went straight to college and grad school. Those cats have a ton of debt for the trouble as well, and in the worst cases, so little life experience that they will be playing catch-up forever.

The people I know who are craftspeople, techs, and laborers also seem to have more job security and definitely are making more money. The few exceptions among my friends and acquaintances in my age group are the suits who work in high finance. I work in beverage sales which I definitely consider to be blue collar. My hubs is a blue collar tech. We do very well financially and have no student loans from pricy schools hanging over our heads.

I really wish that I had figured out that college isn't really important unless you have an EXTREMELY clear picture of what you want from it and are DRIVEN to get it BEFORE I spent so many years working my ass off to pay my way through. Haha live and learn.

Go get a basic job elsewhere....you don't have the ambition and drive required for college level work.

Once you admit this to yourself....you will save yourself / parents a lot of money as well.

i think doing presentations n projects is alot easier than taking 3 multiple choice exams. the exams are tricky as hell and when ur english is not good and u study for the exam and still get a D on the exam makes it demotivating and u might get kicked out of ur university.

I agree with you. Presentations and projects not only build better life and work skills, they also have the power to allow a student with true mastery of the material to demonstrate that mastery. Further, the need to analyze information in order to put it into a presentation/speech/project format ensures that it becomes long-term memory stored. So many good students really are, just like you said, good testers who just stack-dump the information immediately after they have regurgitated it.

Even when the presentations and projects aren't easier, they're usually better for the student.

I don't deserve all the pain I've been put through for no reason. I simply don't.
