Hard to tell looking at these images. To me it looks like it's on a different path. The prediction shows it heading back to the right on C2's FOV at a much sharper angle than what the live view is showing.

Good to see the old girl still rockin'. NASA appears to have screwed up on predicting the path. With that new trajectory it looks like it was further left than expected. Probably was just off frame the whole time. If so, then could it possibly have a more parabolic path and come closer to earth?

I don't know if it'll be closer, hard to tell at this point. Based on the model renderings of its predicted path I don't think it will be any closer, I think it will be farther away.

If it was more to the right I think that would make it closer to Earth, with it appearing to be more to the left I think that takes it farther away...I am certainly no expert though so this is merely my guess.

At this point, I am thinking that is right.

Did ISON Survive?
Below is a video by STEREO Ahead COR2 capturing what was possibly the final moments of Comet ISON. The video is looped twice at higher speed and shows what appears to be the comet vaporizing just before the predicted Perihelion. The third loop in slow motion stops on the possible point of disintegration. New imagery released by LASCO suggests that a portion of the comet may actually have survived. Stay Tuned.
