Went to my doctor today for annual and even he said this isn't his country anymore

An anecdote:

He told me that he has friends who are teachers in the gifted program in the inner city schools (who knew but apparently there is one). He said their parents never encourage or interact or encourage them in any way, while in the meantime they have a the ticket written to success in life but with useless parents. He felt these types of kids should be taken away from them.

Special kids are often raised by substandard parents. No, they should not be 'taken away', as this would do more lasting psychological harm than good.

But teachers for truly 'gifted children' should be given special budgets and special privileges by the schools.

I speak from experience, as a now senior-aged adult who was once in the 'advanced' class for everything, but my single mother was a psychotic drunk, and I never even graduated from university.

Still, though, I always landed on my feet and have had a fairly OK life, better than many.

I needed someone to intervene and give me guidance, instead of just telling me my test scores were in the top 2 percentage points nationwide in the USA. Then, I was left on my own, with a maniac who had sole custody.

Well, here is the thing. Did the "gifted" kids just fall from a tree somewhere? Or do their parents work for a living and make sure to speak proper English language at home, and make sure their kids have a healthy diet so they can function properly during the day in school?

Yeah, those kids should be "taken" from the parents, based on a few interactions throughout the school year that a "public servant" has had with them. After all, public servants know best. Good lord, man, get a grip on reality.

I asked him if he plans on retiring due to this train wreck. He has two sons in college so not now.

I go to the VA Hospital. My spine doctor mentioned that in the next two years there will be a signinficant decrease of care givers and doctors on staff. She said most are leaving and/or retiring. She said most likely they will (Dr's) have to volunteer their services. Again, coming from the horses mouth. Don't kill the messenger. TXS

I'm curious. Why would you question that? It's routine here in the USA. My physician recommends that I return every six months. If not....certainly once a year.

NO! I don't have cancer.

NO! I'm not 75.

We also see a dentist every six months if we would like to keep our teeth in good shape.

Well, we used to do that. Something tells me in the future we will be seeing fewer actual physicians and instead nurses and physician assistants and midwives and whomevewr they can drag off the street to pretend to be the "healthcare provider."
