Anonymous Coward User ID: 49967314 Japan 11/29/2013 11:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think most people's (maybe valid concern) is that China will target a civilian plane to antagonize the situation. I really would not put it past them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49967314 That would be the main concern, yes. How likely it is I'm not sure. Like I said, I really would not put it past them. They have no qualms with killing (at a conservative estimate) around 80 million of their own people. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 49967314 Japan 11/29/2013 11:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Chinese have locked themselves into a trap of their own making. They either have to accept that Japanese planes are crossing the supposed ADIZ as they wish or they have to start a war by killing world citizens on a Japanese airline. China. Just how dumb are you? |
Lime Flavoured Redux User ID: 47860535 United Kingdom 11/29/2013 11:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wouldn't either to be honest. My guess if it happened though would be that China's government would say something like "Not centrally sanctioned ... rogue local commander ... will be dealt with ..." and then execute some out of favour lieutenant colonel or something. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49967314 China. Just how dumb are you? Indeed. China has to act or lose face at home. And people remember that the PLA are not controlled by the Chinese politburo |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 49967314 Japan 11/29/2013 11:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not directly, but I doubt it would be a good idea for a Chinese general to randomly start a war on his own lol. Interestingly, a few weeks ago, a Chinese warship locked onto a Japanese patrol vessel. Of course, the trigger happy Chinese commander was immediately rebuffed and the news dismissed as a non-story in the Chinese press. |

As I said above, even if the Chinese did open fire, the government would apologise and blame it on rouge officers, who would be swiftly purged. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 49967314 Japan 11/29/2013 11:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anyway, back on topic. China cannot just unilaterally declare an air defense zone over international air space. Nobody owns that space. This B-52 training exercise was scheduled long before China's unilateral declaration. The U.S. has no choice but to go through with the exercise as-is because doing otherwise would be de-facto giving legitimacy to China's unilateral declaration over international air space. |

Obviously they wont do that. Last Edited by Lime Flavoured Redux on 11/29/2013 11:41 AM |

Obviously they wont do that. Why would they? China has no legitimate claim to it. Shit, it belonged to the US until the 60's or 70's and China never batted an eyelid. |

The CHICOMS will do nothing but intercept / track us through there. They can't walk the walk, but are simply talking the talk. US and JAP aviators / ATC are pros that train with each other often. Bluster only. |

I know lol, I was merely pointing out that they could "surrender" the islands to China, which is presumably what the AC was talking about. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 397546 United States 11/29/2013 11:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is all just manipulation of some kind. We've seen it all before. Korea. Middle East. North Africa. OH LOOK! Hostilities over here! It's like some kind of weird old Monty Python skit. Don't put any of your Power into it. Laugh at their manipulations. |
