The Walking Dead should not of killed off Scott Wilson character Hershel
The writers of the Walking Dead, made a huge mistake killing off Hershel's character. Trust me I felt a deep bad feeling, when they slaughtered him like cattle. The writers wanted Hershel's {a major character} death to be the most cruel and viciously violent of them all, by the hands of living person {not the undead}. They killed a senior citizen and young child all in the same episode. Focusing on killing the young and old. I got a very bad feeling about the possible hidden truth behind it all. Why was it so important to kill off Hershel's character the way of decapitation? Scott Wilson brought reason, compassion, and care playing the major role of Hershel. The Walking Dead needs new writers. Also they have a supernatural event occurring, the dead rising and they are staying away from explaing or understanding the reasons why. No talk about revelations end of times, no talk about possible Alien presence on earth. The Walking Dead writers have not gone there yet, in visually showing the tv viewers where the virus originated. Why after 4 seasons they have not shown the origin of the outbreak of the virus plague?. Why do they continue to have the show's characters based in Atlanta?

Re: The Walking Dead should not of killed off Scott Wilson character Hershel
The show's turned shitty, you have 8 or 10 characters and they're all the same, all somber, all suffering under the weight of their baggage, all unsure of themselves. Killing Merle was a mistake, he was different from the rest, though at the end he turned into all the above. Herschel was different too slightly at least, in that he was the only one who still had hope.

You look at all shows, they have a mix of character types, a zany nut, a straight man, an intelligent one, a nerd and so on. They can't go on like this and expect that show to last. I'm a lifelong zombie movie fan and I'm rapidly losing interest.

No character is safe besides Rick really. Every character is fair game. There are more major deaths to come so get ready. Many more new characters will be reduced. Three important ones will be introduced this season.

Also I don't think we will know what caused the outbreak until the very end.

As for Atlanta they will be leaving there very soon and heading towards DC.

It's about fucking time. I think these people forgot the whole premise of the zombie genre. You take a group of regular people like you and me, throw them in an end of the world scenario and show us how they manage to survive. Or maybe they don't survive. Whatever.

You tackle issues like what to do with the coward dead weight. Do you just leave him for the zombies to eat, do you drag him around with you, do you kill him and eat him yourself? They need to get back out onto the road for some good old fashioned day to day survival.

Yeah thats when the Walking Dead is at it's best IMO. I'm really looking forward to "The Hunters" storyline from the comics.

Once they get to Alexandria though they stay there for a long time but plenty of crazy shit happens.

Re: The Walking Dead should not of killed off Scott Wilson character Hershel
Merle's character was important to keep on the show, he may have been ruthless, but he was needed and he had a hidden heart unconditional love for his brother in some strange way, but they canned him. If you all notice they had that one eye govenor kill off two major character's himself. The one handed man, which was Merle, he shot him in the chest. The other one legged man {Hershel he decapitated him. Both Merle and Hershel were missing a limb and was able to survive being killed by the undead, but was taken out by a one eyed monster. Something is not right up in the writer's room of the Waliking Dead.

AMC has said they may keep TWD running through the year 2022... The comic series is very extensive and still ongoing.

Merle was a big loss. The only real standout character they had, and have had since Dale and Shane. At least back at they time they still had something of a mix.

he only had one leg, he was done for anyway, and the baby was too much of a burden and a baby crying all the time is annoying and would bring zombies. when it comes down to it rick is the only non expendable character, the story started with him by himself and it should end with him.

i do agree that Merle was a big loss to the show, he was damn scary, there was tension anytime he was on the show and the dynamics of him and his brother between his hatred of rick, he was a big loss for the show.

Re: The Walking Dead should not of killed off Scott Wilson character Hershel
Read the Graphic novels. The show is very Tame compared the Story in the comic version. Losing Hershel was not a mistake. You have to move the story forward and the only way to do that is trauma/Death. I thought the episode was exactly what needed to be done for the next stage of the story. It was closer to the grittiness of the Novels.

Thus it is probably going to happen in the show soon.

There's balance to the story when you take out the psychopath after he kills the saint. How many times do you meet someone or even have a family member who you consider a dangerous nut case. He had to go. Its to bad the prison was destroyed. The place reminded me of the hospital in the first episode after the initial attack. rick is back in his accustomed spot - leader.
