December, 2013 Update -CONFUSION : Over The Fate Of Comet Ison!
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — It’s all up to Hubble.

NASA said Monday that the Hubble Space Telescope is the best bet for figuring out whether Comet ISON disintegrated during its brush with the sun last week.

A pair of solar observatories saw something emerge from around the sun following ISON’s close approach on Thanksgiving Day. But scientists don’t know whether the spot of light was merely the comet’s shattered remains or what’s left of its icy nucleus. Either way, by now, they say it may be just dust.

Over the coming week or two, scientists will keep a lookout for any brightening, which could indicate what, if anything is left. Hubble should put the matter to rest in mid-December, when the comet’s remains are far enough from the sun for safe viewing.

Ison not dead.
Good rez images never made it. Still all crapy stuff.
But on the Right, Top, about 1 inch of each border you can see a faint but really distinguishable dot.

Check the movie Ahead H1I and you'll see how Ison is visible way after it disappear from Lasco C3.

There is something. Only blinds or ones that dont want to see, not to see it.

You are welcome, Ozark Granny!

I was so excited to find this article.

I have to give credit to "Muse" who posted it on Dr. Astro's thread, but no one seemed to notice it.

I felt it needed its own thread!

But, again MUSE found it!

If it survived, Ison is supposed to be visible with the naked eye before mid december so why the hell would we need hubble?

I think they are now saying we will not be able to see it with the naked eye.

However, what do they know...they don't know anymore than we do.

They are just guessing, but Hubble will tell the tale of it all.

DECEMBER 2013

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: These charts are drawn for what is commonly called “mid Northern latitudes”, i.e. the UK, northern Europe and most of the US. If you live outside of that area your opportunities to view ISON will be different. To find out if you can see ISON from where YOU live, please go to this page of my blog…

[link to waitingforison.wordpress.com] I strongly suggest that you download one of the many available astronomy apps onto your phone, which will tell you exactly what you want to know. I recommend some of those on this page of my blog…

That's the only dead proof it didn't disappear as said and when said, only going with lasco c3.
So there is cover up of some sort.

And they still dont provide hi-rez images. Which I find even more funny.

Hubble will have a look for the remnant once it moves far enough from the Sun for Hubble to safely point at it, in mid-December.

This guy is absolutely right about one thing ----

You can not make a definitive judgement based on one piece of info.

Especially when scientists often learn new things by making indirect observations on how other things are affected.

Re: December, 2013 Update -CONFUSION : Over The Fate Of Comet Ison!
You can see comets because of the gasey plumes they emit but if it's now just a metallic rock (meteor) or collection of rocks (peanut size to house size) that's much harder to see.

Remember no one saw the Russian meteor coming in and that was 50-60 feet in size. There could be a whole massive cloud of this stuff coming in our general direction.

The key is whether the remnants deviated to a lower angle trajectory from the Sun than expected. We know it's supposed to fly directly above us already so that part of the X and Y is for certain.
