If a Chinese person offers you the best price for your house, will you sell to him or her? Legality aside, because I think you should have the right to discriminate on racial grounds, to protect the neighborhood or whatever, wouldn't you want to?

How is it invasion? It's all commercial. Are you aware that for at least the past 20 years (that's how long I've known it) any foreigner can buy a green card with an investment of $500,000.

That makes the USA much more expensive than almost any other country. Canada is more like $100,000 . Hm, wonder why so much of Hong Kong moved to Vancouver not Seattle ...

That's great. There's nothing in this thread to suggest anyone is going to make you sell your land. Now there's the other thread about the Catloochie Valley (spelled something like that) but what does that have to do with the Chinese building a new city near Monticello NY? Do you have land there?

Presumably if they get permission to build a city, they will still have to buy the land, and I would be quite shocked if existing governments will condemn land for that purpose. That really would raise a hue and cry, because it would be wrong.

If the government comes in and wants to make my property apart of the National Park, they will offer me a sum...but I don't want that sum. I want to stay on my property.

BTW Monticello NY is a good area, and I think the Chinese are smart to target it for development. It's right on NY Route 17, which is like an interstate highway, and it's a straightforward commute to NYC or Albany. I don't know about the particular parcel, but the area isn't just "wetlands", it's quite scenic.

I think the Chinese just see a good business deal, a place they would like to own, and they are quite to pay at or above the market price to acquire the land. They probably look at the market price and consider it not much different from zero, compared with the price of land in China.

So it would just be Chinese money and wealthy people coming in and building something much nicer than what they could get in overcrowded China, paying cash all the way.

Monticello NY is also the city where we had the video of the black Mayor in handcuffs being interviewed after a DUI by a black cop and his white supervisor, saying those racist anti-white things.

The area could use a bit of gentrification, it's too good a spot to be controlled by those clowns. Don't worry, it will all be bought on the up and up, the last thing the Chinese want is to be called invaders, they'll just put enough money on the table that everyone will sell what they need to buy.

I'll bet the Chinese will get tax breaks for 5 years like everyone else that comes here.
