Why? Is speaking in tongues not a Acts chapter 2 experience as well as other places in the New Testament? Laying on of hands when praying for people wrong? Did the light of Christ not physically knock Saul/Paul off the donkey?
Quoting: Red X Raider seen these pastors from a big famous church up close and personal, "prayed" with them, well I didn't, could tell they were jumping up and down and faking it, saw all I needed to My Dad and step mom took me to see Robert Tilton at the Word of Faith church in Dallas. 1980. I was amazed at the place, it was quite good entertainment there. I was blown away as a young person. Tilton turned out to be a fraud and a crook. He was good! I can see how people are taken in. you summed it up succinctly, "entertainment" It felt like being at a dance when you were a kid! A large group can generate it's own hysteria, and this is how it was. There were 2000 people there, and it was in a warehouse, and the place was rocking! He did 3 shows each Sunday! People want to believe in God so badly, but they don't know how. They are susceptible to these buggers!
