Sandy Hook Call 3 Why don't we get to hear Jen's call? Update it's EDITED!
If Jen is a 911 operator and Nute tells her to get off " that " phone why?

Somebody else had mentioned this before so forgive me for not giving proper credit. Nute directs Jen by saying " Jen get the sergeant, get everyone you can going down there"

Then listen really really close. Between 20 seconds and 25 seconds the file is augmented.

After Nute says " get everyone you can going down there" it seems without taking a breath he says " alright lemme get some information from you"

The part is cut in. When Nute says altright listen in the background....you catch a phone suddenly ringing in mid ring, Rick was about to say something and Nute is trying tell him he wants information. In other words right at 23-24 seconds you can hear the difference in the recording and how it steps on the existing background.

There are a couple other area's that are also cut but that one is the most obvious.

Then at 1:19 you hear Jen saying " guys there is a shooting at Sandy Hook school that's why 911 is ringing off the hook" I can only assume she is still calling police.

Now at 1:42 while Nute is asking Rick what his position is at the school you here Jen pick up a ringing phone and you can hear her say " at the school? Dickenson? Okay what's the (can't quite make out the word but it sound like story)then there is some cross talk while Rick and suddenly another dispatcher jumps in and asks what the address is for the school and then Jen blurts " there's a rumor it's fake" Or she says " are you in a room where it's safe?"

There is a lot of editing on this call that is obvious. If she was on the phone with someone in the school or had info about the school why would Nute tell her to get off the phone?

Why can't we here Jens call?

Because we haven't wrote the script for that call yet.

Must admit...it does kind of sound like 2 tracks joined together.

Then at 1:19 you hear Jen saying " guys there is a shooting at Sandy Hook school that's why 911 is ringing off the hook" I can only assume she is still calling police.

I'm assuming she's yelling into the police station...which they are attached to.

Now at 1:42 while Nute is asking Rick what his position is at the school you here Jen pick up a ringing phone and you can hear her say " at the school? Dickenson? I can't make out what is said when the phone is answered...but I was also confused by the addition of another voice on the call with Nute and Thorne. I also couldn't understand why there is so much overtalk. They must have mute buttons but there are several times where a dispatcher is speaking to someone not on the phone and it confuses the callers.

There is a lot of editing on this call that is obvious. If she was on the phone with someone in the school or had info about the school why would Nute tell her to get off the phone?

Why can't we here Jens call?

There are other calls we're not hearing as well. Janet Robinson obviously called in and another woman Nute spoke with...but if these were not directly related to the events going on in the school it's unlikely we'll ever hear them.

We obviously haven't been given near all the calls. Hopefully the entire report and all accompanying 911 calls will be released at some point.

Swan if she is yelling to the police that are in the same building are they the ones that may have told her it's fake? Or does she get that from the caller?

To be honest...I had assumed that she was on a call she had placed. It was the only way I could explain why Nute would tell her to get off the phone.

It doesn't make sense for him to be telling her to get off the phone if she's just answered what may be an emergency call.

As far as who may have told her what...I have no idea.

These calls are a real dogs breakfast. If all I knew about this event were these calls I don't think I would have been handing out any awards.

Call 6

Many things in this call that just scream of inconsistencies but I want to show how Rick does not call back in he is " on the line " the whole time.

At the beginning of this recording you hear Nute seems to be finishing explaining that they have that info and have officers on scene. Asks who it is on the phone and tada it's Rick Thorne " I'm in the building". Nute sounds agitated and says " alright we have officers there".

Now this is odd for so many reasons. The main thing is Nute does not seem to want any updated info from Rick if this call truly came in after the 1st.

At 26 seconds Nute's voice is cut off even though you can tell he has not disconnected his call from Rick. Then you get a bunch of dead air and ground buzz for a few seconds.

Now they must have multiple lines to use on their phones that's why you keep hearing multiple dial tones, he is switching lines. So these are not "CALLS" per se but recordings of the event. Make sense?

There are many more cut-off " calls "but then finally says " Newtown 911" and after some confusion bingo he finds Rick Thorne who says " you talkin to me?" If he was calling in he should know Nute was talking to him but he was on hold.

There is more to come.

We hear too much stuff for it to be calls. I am now of the mind that these are recordings maybe done through a phone system but only selected audio is being presented. If the 911 recording system truly was activated by a phone call there would not be so much dead air.

I forgot to add to the bolded area that we do hear distant dispatching going on so we must have to assume that Nute's mike is picking that up? I can hear him typing so he is not dispatching or we would hear him.

It appears clear from what I have heard that Thorne is not calling in every time...rather he is being placed on hold.

What's odd is that Nute can never seem to remember what line he is holding on.

Lol...he does sound agitated at one point when he says, "Yeah, we know." But what really gets me is that Thorne is in the hall on the phone...police are about to enter the school...but Nute never asks Thorne for specific details on where he is so he can alert police to his location and identity so they don't accidentally shoot him.

He never even tells him "west hallway" or something...he just says he's "near".

I also find it kinda odd that when Jen says (you can hear it in her call and in the background of Nute's) "Woman shot in the foot. Requires ambulance. Nute says, "Well I'm not sending them in there yet." and jen says..."I know".

She "knows" they're not sending ambulances in yet...to a school shooting...where children are shot and dying?

Weird.

Oh...lol...also, at one point, Nute tells Thorne he's putting him on hold cuz he has another call...but he puts him on hold and then doesn't talk to anyone. He does appear to type something. Meanwhile poor ol Rick is in a shooting gallery.

Keep in mind that when Nute keys his police radio (or headset or whatever he does to change over to dispatching over NPD frequencies) it cuts off his voice on the 911 call. I believe this is a deliberate cutoff switch.

When you line the 911 calls up with NPD audio (some of which you can hear in the background of Nute's calls and use to sync), you can hear Nute keying in and out of the 911 call.

In order for these calls to have been edited i.e. segments removed, they would have had to have a completely pre-edited set of NPD audio files at RadioReference, also edited, from day 1. Not saying they didn't - just that Sedensky would have had to edit the 911 calls live as they were happening, or within half an hour of each one being archived at RadioReference 12 months ago.

If she "knows"...why is she passing it along to Nute. Why is she running the entire call past Nute?

Nute has Thorne on the line...someone IN the building. And instead of dealing with him...he's kibitzing on Jen's call.

"Is that PD?" Thorne responds thinking Nute's talking to him..."It's near the fire house." Nute, agitated..."Yeah, we know, we got...". Then he goes back to Jen's call.

The whole thing strikes me as amature hour. As if Jen isn't qualified/capable of dealing with her own shit.

Also, there are multiple cases where two 911 calls are being taken simultaneously (one by Nute, one by Barocsi) whose audio matches perfectly with one another plus matches perfectly with NPD audio.

Believe me - I immediately thought, too, Nute was edited; and when I first heard his voice on NPD audio and heard cutaways and cut-ins, thought this was editing; but it turns out to be his cutoff switch operating between the phone and the radio.

Just remember you can also hear other dispatching and Nute typing on a keyboard. I will assume that is from his mic unless you know where these sounds are coming from.

Yes - I'm not sure what keys the 911 recording, or mics, on and off.

And I don't know if these individual calls are taken from a single, long audio file, or whether the recording process only kicks in when a 911 call is incoming.

For example when Jen is making repeated outgoing calls to (I think) Western District Major Crime, why is that recorded?

Re: Sandy Hook Call 3 Why don't we get to hear Jen's call? Update it's EDITED!
Furthermore...where is the section of audio where Nute tells approaching officers that he has a male on the phone in such and such a location?

This would be standard procedure. Alert officers about to enter that there is a male in a hallway, holding a phone, talking to dispatch.

So did you listen to the original edit on " call 3" I pointed out yet? The background gets stepped on and there is a phone picked up mid ring and the room is suddenly louder. This is a clear edit.

I won't belabor it because it is obvious. If this audio matches perfectly the way you see it but it is edited are you willing to except that or are you going to look past the editing as long as the timelines match?
Is there a chance we could get some honesty up in here?

This part seems like we catch it mid conversation. I will get exact patching shortly

I've laid 5 6 and 7 over each other and they all line up.

With 5 and 6 you can actually hear the conversation Jen and Nute are having.

I can mix it down and up it to Youtube if you want to hear it.

So these really are not "call" recordings are they. The room in a sense is recorded

The reason we here a third voice on Call 3 is that that call is being conferenced from CSP. The woman who asks, "Newtown, what's the address of the school?" is a female CSP dispatcher. Rick is on a cellphone; we had previously thought he was on some kind of hallway landline.

So on Call 3 we are also hearing some background talk in the CSP office.

He's not sending EMS into the building yet (shooter hasn't been taken down).
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51245263

If she "knows"...why is she passing it along to Nute. Why is she running the entire call past Nute?

Nute has Thorne on the line...someone IN the building. And instead of dealing with him...he's kibitzing on Jen's call.

"Is that PD?" Thorne responds thinking Nute's talking to him..."It's near the fire house." Nute, agitated..."Yeah, we know, we got...". Then he goes back to Jen's call.

The whole thing strikes me as amature hour. As if Jen isn't qualified/capable of dealing with her own shit.
 Quoting: swansong

Jen's on with Pisani at that point right? She's repeating that there's a GSW in Room 1; maybe Nute thinks she's trying to rush EMTs in there, which is always a strong pull that both EMTs and dispatchers have to resist against their instincts.
