Unprecedented Hypocrisy: Gov Bans GM Food From Restaurants But Wants Us to Eat it!
In 1998, the British Government bans GM food from the restaurants in the Houses of Parliament (see below). In 2013, it is still banned (see below).

Yet, even though it is banned from the restaurants in the Houses of Parliament for over 15 years, they tell the public to eat it.

GM crops are safer than conventional crops, says Environment Secretary Owen Paterson

Stepping up his campaign to grow GM crops in the UK, Mr Paterson used a speech in Hertfordshire to promote genetic engineering of plants and called on the government, industry and scientists to join forces to convert the public in the face of widespread fear and scepticism.

Mr Paterson said GM crops were safer than conventional ones because they use "more precise technology and [come under] greater regulatory scrutiny".

1998: Genetically-modified food has been banned from restaurants and bars in the House of Commons. Full-time catering managers have decided to avoid using genetically-modified (GM) food - developed from crops given genes from other species - until more is known about the long-term effects.

2013: GM foods are banned from restaurants in the Houses of Parliament despite government claims it is ‘probably safer’ than other meals.

Government ministers are demanding that ordinary families should abandon their reluctance to eat genetically modified
food, however they are banned from MPs’ plates.

This week the food and farming secretary, Owen Paterson, launched an extraordinary propaganda campaign to encourage the nation to accept GM crops and farming.

Gov media will twist information to suggest eating GM food is safe. Here's an example.

If GM crops are bad, show us the evidence

Here's one comment about that article:

The title of this article is so wrong... you might like to read this my friend: SHIFTING THE BURDEN OF PROOF

The burden of proof is always on the person making an assertion or proposition. Shifting the burden of proof, a special case of argumentum ad ignorantium, is the fallacy of putting the burden of proof on the person who denies or questions the assertion being made. The source of the fallacy is the assumption that something is true unless proven otherwise. Now, the title should be: If GM Crops are safe, show us the evidence
