They can't find ISON because ISON evaporated, and there is no more ISON

Indeed if its not there, why are they still looking for it? Or more appropriately, why are they giving us the impression that they are still looking for it? Is it for plausible deniability? Is it to keep the matter open-ended? Is it to cover their backs if/when something shows up in our skies soon? And they will say "ha, that is the remnants of ISON". 5 stars and a karma for your images and thought provocation.
