Face Palmer User ID: 1149868 Germany 12/11/2013 03:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Could be a shadow on your brain "The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 51385472 United States 12/11/2013 04:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | yes it appears to be on top at rise and on bottom at set.....or vice versa Quoting: Anonymous Coward 620235 only time it looks on one of the sides is at the highest point in the sky Thanks for a constructive reply. I've seen the shadow with more of a 'diagonal' setting plenty of times. I've just never observed a shadow perpendicular across the top/bottom even when toward the horizon. |

I've seen the shadow with more of a 'diagonal' setting plenty of times. I've just never observed a shadow perpendicular across the top/bottom even when toward the horizon. What I saw was the orangish hue on the "top" of the crescent, not the way it is "supposed" to be, but on the part farthest from the horizon as it was setting. There was a thin veil of cloud, with one thin dark band that bisected the moon in half, exactly parallel to the horizon. The clouds were thin except for this one band. I have never seen anything quite like it before EXCEPT when then was a partial eclipse. |
