Massive Cold Wave to Continue Thru Christmas. This to me is signs of possible 3 days of darkness coming associated with the end of the mayan calendar next week. [link to en.wikipedia.org] It could also be a signal for a pole shift. First time in 112 years we have snow in Cairo and it also snowed in Jerusalem. Freezing temps all the way to Guatemala. 3 days of darkness has always been associated with bitter cold everywhere right before it is said to happen. |

Massive Cold Wave to Continue Thru Christmas. I have family in New England and my Sister and her hubby just spent 70k on a new LandRover. No, that is not the top of the line. More like slightly above middle. But it will go when and where other lesser vehicles will sink into snow and have to be pulled out when it starts to melt. The also got both front and rear electric - full remote operated no less - winches, the super-heavy duty towing package and the cold weather package that gives them all seven seats heated, two huge batteries for cranking in cold weather, and plug-in engine and battery compartment heaters for those nights when it is in the garage but the temps are still minus 20 degrees below zero and falling. The radiator and the transmission on this thing look like they belong on a Kennworth Tractor/Trailer Diesel and the power output is balanced to all four wheels - each of which is fully independent of the others in terms of power and suspension. As I began to read the specs on this thing, I started to understand the rather lofty price. This is one of the very few luxury SUVs that actually delivers something for the cash besides a highly tarted up interior and lots of shinny gauges and buttons. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3063399 Did they get the snorkel package so they can drive thru the 6 foot snow drifts. They probably should use the Mobil synthetic 0w-40 oil. Big Bats are good but they also need the high output alternator. The steel cable on winches is trouble around places that use heavy salt. They ought to switch to Kevlar rope. I have a 10,000 pound winch on my truck than can be hooked up front or back. The nice thing is Warn makes a winch bracket for use with a trailer mount. When not in use the winch can be stored keeping it in perfect shape until I need it. But hey a Land Rover would be nice. I would want a remote start for it so I wouldn't have to go outside to warm it up. Last Edited by Mr. Toppit on 12/13/2013 01:47 PM |
