I attend a Non-Denominational Christian Church, most of the parishoners are Ex-Catholics, Lutherans..I was baptized in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church...

Of course many like myself miss the worship that was the Catholic and Lutheran Church like the weekly Eucharist, the Lord's prayer the music, but it has changed the institution and that is why many have left...

Let me ask you...where is the nun, the pope, confessions to save your soul, praying to Mary and other saints (idolatry) ...where is any of that at in the Bible? It's not. The Catholic Church enveloped pagan deity's and called them saints. It has elevated Mary to perfection, when the Bible tells us no one ever lived a perfect life apart from Christ.

Works based religion is the central focus of ALL false religion....every religion EXCEPT for Christianity. That with enough work, and enough sacrifice, YOU can do it YOURSELF. New age, Eastern religion, the Catholic Church, Buddhism...funny, can you see the threads for the coming WORLD religion?

The Bible teaches that Christ's sacrifice was sufficient, His grace is what saves us.

Complexity. Sure the Catholic Church is complex. So is the winding historical narrative of the bible. So is everything we see in the universe. If God's creation is complex and his revelation of his divine plan is complex it shouldn't surprise you that the Church would be complex as well.

Give to the poor feed, denounce pedophilia. Do you believe the Catholic Church doesn't do these things? It has always shocked me how many Christians hate Catholics and are content in hating them without taking the time to do research or talk to a Catholic about what they actually believe. The rates of sexual abuse in the catholic church are, although any positive figure is unacceptable, the same as rates of sexual abuse in the protestant denominations.

Naturally the pope is just a man. Just like Jesus choose just men to follow him. He appointed Peter, also just a man who even denied him 3 times, to lead the church, the first pope. This brings us to Apostolic Succession. After Peter another man was selected. We believe and ask for the Holy Spirit's guidance when selecting a Pope because alas, we are left with just men to lead as Jesus is not here right now.

This pope hugged and kissed a man with tumors all over his face and body? How many of you God fearing Christians here would do

The problem is ...anyone can see Jesus anyway they want. From war lord to king if peace. Any type of person can fit Him into any catagory they want.

To me Jesus is love and peace and life. He wanted us all to live in peace and love and to not let any worldly things interfere with that. To others he is a war lord who wants everyone to get as rich and be as selfish and bigoted as they want to be.

IMO the pope is bringing people to the church for the wrong reasons, he is being apathetic towards sin and appealing to secularists without addressing the purpose of the church, which is to be in union with Christ, meaning striving towards salvation through Christ and the forgiveness and repentance of sin. Why does the Pope say we should not address the issues of homosexuality and abortion. The pope seems to be more focused on a false image of humility.

I disagree we need to see great examples of love from
MORTALS.

To believe only an omnipotent God Man can set such great examples and no one else is not good. Jesus wants us to be as much like him as possible.

Could you imagine if this mortal pope can set such examples of love that crime rates all around the world drop and people start being more gentle to Gods creation the Earth?
