As headset video cameras start to get popular among tourists and nature walkers, Tokyo-based Neurowear develops a technology that blows the competition away. The Neurocam detects neurological signals the wearer emits when something interesting is observed. This allows the Neurocam to start recording something you may see that interests you, potentially allowing you to capture all the eventful moments of the day. The camera detects brain activity and starts to record immediately when brain activity exceeds a certain threshold. This threshold of brain activity usually occurs when an individual sees something that is attention grabbing.
The current prototype Neurocam utilizes the Apple Iphone as the processor, storage and camera. Future prototypes will incorporate is own smart computer and camera within the headsets. This technology could be further integrated with marketing techniques, using the Neurocam to asses which items consumers find interesting. This will take impulse marketing to the next level.
In addition to the Neurocam, Neurowear has developed similar gadgets like headphones that selects music based on the listener's mood and mind controlled movable cat ears and tail. This Japanese company sure does have a lot of potential to develop life changing technologies in various sectors.
