People want to be fixed and there is a drug for that. We aren't taught effective ways to deal with anything so we need to be fixed. This is present in all medicine, not just psychiatry. Until the mind set is turned around people with different abilities and liabilities aren't going to get effective help. Everything can't be fixed with pills. The old way was hospitalization (sometimes permanent) and lot of horrible drugs like Thorazine. Some people want to get better while others don't. If you think schizophrenia is fake then you probably don't know anyone with it. Schizophrenia is very hard to understand. The schizophrenic has a completely different reality to deal with compared to so called normal people.
