I know it is still technically the Geminid meteor shower but I have read numerous sources which state that the frequency of them would drop significantly after December 13th ( [link to news.discovery.com] . I need someone who was watching this site during the peak to confirm any differences. It is a shame I wasn't constantly watching the meteorscan website, I was just clicking on it every so often, otherwise I could have got some idea of meteors per hour to compare it with the peak of the geminids, which is 50-90 per hour. According to wikipedia: [link to en.wikipedia.org] in 2013 geminid shower happen on 4 december untill 17 december and peak was on 14... so is not next week as it end next Tuesday... |
| ThreeDog (OP) User ID: 50964257 United Kingdom12/15/2013 07:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After counting the strikes every minute for the last half an hour there were 45 strikes in 30minutes, which means there are 90 per hour, which is the same as expected at peak, however I have seen the peak shown as higher than this with estimates at 120-160 per hour.
