That is partly true but they are VERY emotional about THEMSELVES. In fact, that is all they think about or consider. They turn everything around to benefit themselves exclusively. I know...I lived with one. They are monsters but you don't see it at first because they are master manipulators. |

I've been reading avidly on NPD since watching this; so many things hit home about the man I'm in the process of divorcing. Here are a couple of links with some descriptions of signs and symptoms of this disorder: [link to www.halcyon.com] [link to www.halcyon.com] snip: "A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy. 1. An exaggerated sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements) 2. Preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love 3. Believes he is "special" and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions) 4. Requires excessive admiration etc.... Was very helpful to find this information, to put a name to the type of emotional abuse/neglect I've been experiencing for years. |

Seriously, he is like an alien in "the real world" trying to fit in by mimicking what others are doing. I've tried really hard to help him understand that we still exist when he sleeps. But after several attempts, I've relented. Now at the age of 18... I am convinced that he believes he is "GOD" and that we all exist in his mind. The only good thing is that he SUCKS at manipulating people. I hope and pray he will find a way to learn to empathize with the rest of the world. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 41769768 United Kingdom 01/26/2014 12:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Demons are a creation of Christianity, Christianity and the Devil were invented to control people, please get stop giving these two fraudulent . There is no such thing as a demon. Daemon's on the other hand were benevolent spirits that were deliberately given a bad name during the time of Christianity because they could not be controlled and became known as demons, these evil, naughty disobedient spirits. So you tell me why can't a spirit be pissed off when some fake religion pops it's head up and builds churches on their sacred ground? That is why humans become possessed, it is the Daemons only way of trying to get back at the church and use a persons body (vessel) as a way of communication with a priest. That is why priests are desperate to banish these angry spirits, because they are terrified to have to face what the church really is. Nothing but a corrupt movement who tried to denounce the natural power of Nature herself. Back to narcissists. Narcissists are very insecure people who need to have attention constantly. They get their attention by doing things like wearing next to nothing, self harming and countless other ways. They just cannot simply be at one with their inner self, Everything is a drama, life has to have turmoil for them so they feel their need of attention is being met. That is not the symptom of an age old entity, that is the symptom of someone who needs a good kick up the behind. |
