I keep reading about this Fukushima thing but really have seen no real consequences come from it. And now Obama is going to Hawaii for a long vacation into what should be a really high radiation place. So is obama committing suicide or what.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The operator of a stricken nuclear power plant in Japan said on Tuesday that radiation readings near storage tanks holding contaminated water reached a record high. According to experts in Hawaii, there is currently no major health threat to the state, but they are monitoring the developments.

Tokyo Electric Power Company revealed the new measurement levels as it struggles to deal with leaks at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Henrieta Dulaiova has been studying the radiation released into the Pacific Ocean since the 2011 disaster in Japan.

Every day, in every way, Fuka's fukin' the world.

Find a globe, at a school or library..have a casual look.

Gee, all the oceans are connected.

No-brainer.

Now, consider the atmosphere of the world.

Same thing, Gomer!

Fuka's now "Another Roadside Attraction", like the Eiffel Tower--a part of the cultural landscape. It ain't going away. It'll only get worse.

Because those who could have done something are too evil to want to do anything, or too stupid to know that they should have done something.

However, every libtard knows that the only pollution that damages the world is that spewed by American industry.

Miraculously, Chinese industry doesn't hurt the global biosphere; neither does Japanese radioactivity.

So..the solution's obvious: tax the piss out of America.

They aren't. Even if they wanted to, they now have to pretend it doesn't exist, or admit to being insanely incompetent and stupid. Which, they can't and won't admit to being--it'd destroy confidence too greatly.

People seem to be under the impression that nuclear contamination is only coming from Japan. Has everyone forgotten all the nuclear waste dumped off of Somolia? Don't tell me that hasn't entered the food chain.

Then there is the 20,000 above ground nuclear tests done by many governments, over the last half a century.

I'm not saying I'm not worried about Japan. I'm just trying to be realistic in a situation where none of us have any control.

If you find a fresh planet for us all to move to, let me know. Until then, I'm going to breathe the air, walk in the rain, and eat the tomatoes.

If you look forward to the very long term consequences, it could be optimistic for the planetary biosphere.

Organisms have had to deal with radiation before and have survived. Humans, not so much, and so the herd will be culled a bit.

This may be good for life on the planet overall in several million or billion years, but humans may have to go off planet to survive the long-term consequences of their own actions.

As a human who is currently on this planet, the future looks grim. I never thought nuclear power was sane or viable, but didn't exactly join Greenpeace or become an activist protesting it either. There are errors/"sins" of commission and omission on both sides.

Interesting, but sad times.

There isn't a whole let else TO do. This is delayed doom, really. It's not like you will see massive death tomorrow or next year even....but within the next few years I would not at all be surprised to see talk about a triple in the cancer rate, huge jump in birth defects, alot of people dying alot younger.
