According to experts in Hawaii, there is currently no major health threat to the state, but they are monitoring the developments. Tokyo Electric Power Company revealed the new measurement levels as it struggles to deal with leaks at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Henrieta Dulaiova has been studying the radiation released into the Pacific Ocean since the 2011 disaster in Japan. I disagree with her since China wont even buy our fish now |

They aren't. Even if they wanted to, they now have to pretend it doesn't exist, or admit to being insanely incompetent and stupid. Which, they can't and won't admit to being--it'd destroy confidence too greatly. So, the Band Plays On. And On, And On.... |

Then there is the 20,000 above ground nuclear tests done by many governments, over the last half a century. I'm not saying I'm not worried about Japan. I'm just trying to be realistic in a situation where none of us have any control. If you find a fresh planet for us all to move to, let me know. Anonymous Coward User ID: 27073052 United States 12/22/2013 10:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | thanks for pin , I had spent my energy on Pacific not thinking how this would spread so soon Quoting: Goofy for God this is what I'd like to know. Who really will benefit form a planet covered in this stuff? If you look forward to the very long term consequences, it could be optimistic for the planetary biosphere. Organisms have had to deal with radiation before and have survived. Humans, not so much, and so the herd will be culled a bit. This may be good for life on the planet overall in several million or billion years, but humans may have to go off planet to survive the long-term consequences of their own actions. As a human who is currently on this planet, the future looks grim. I never thought nuclear power was sane or viable, but didn't exactly join Greenpeace or become an activist protesting it either. There are errors/"sins" of commission and omission on both sides. Interesting, but sad times. ***** |
