2268: No, I don't think so, someone's living body connect his soul, but probably this person is able to travel in time or in space much easier than others with higher brain frequency. A medium is able to slow down his brain frequency (this is a trance state) to to achieve contact with other "worlds". The astral strip detaches oneself from soul only after death.

It takes 72 hours, Three Days.

The reasion it takes so long is because of the tissues like ligiments(sp) take that long to die as they have the Slowest metabolic rate.

Unless of corse you are Vaporised in a Flash then I gues it would be like a Flash(Poof your Gone Soul is Free)

Also, all should take note of the significance/sacredity of the numeral '3' (i cannot elaborate on that point due to its significance, the info is there for those who are ready to receive it), this has nothing to do with numerology.

the nde descriptions are usually the spirit memories
the soul is usually unconscious at the time

this is why they see the body from another location
the soul is located in the body

Re: When you die how long does it take for the soul to leave the body? Question Open to all religions
Physical dead is the threshold. Beyond the threshold...no mortal can know for sure. After that, it is purely a matter of belief what happens after.

My personal belief is, we go through a period of time/dimension where our soul reflects back over the previous life. Our soul experiences the emotions that during life we were responsible for causing, that is, if we caused love in someone, we experience love, if we caused pain, we experience pain.

After this period of brief reflection, (perhaps 1/3 of our physical lifetime) and depending on what lessons our soul has learned, we set to "work" on the soul qualities we need to improve in preparation for re-birth. Some are re-born sooner than others, but I would imagine measured by time in the physical world it may be 4 to 6 hundred years before re-birth.

During the period sometimes called Kamaloca, the reflection period, if we caused a great deal of pain...we would experience a kind of hell...If we caused love, more of a heavenly experience.

A farmer "dead" for 40 minutes was brought back to life by doctors who massaged his heart 10,000 times and gave him electric shocks. Zhao Guoyu, 43, a farmer in Gaoyang village near Tianjin, China, suffered nine massive heart attacks within three hours in hospital. It is allegedly the longest time a patient has stopped breathing and still recovered. South China Morning post, 14 Nov 1996.

if this is true then the soul/spirit stays with the body for at least 40 minutes.

perhaps the 72 hour is correct, where did this idea of 72 hours originate from ?

NEAR death is not really "death"
OBE is not death, reference the "silver Cord" of Old Test. is still attached.
Native Tradition is to wait four days and most Christian funerals take 3 or 4. But Jews bury immediately. Tibeten and Chinese believe some things will keep the dead ones spirit earthbound and have a great training for the death process. I have asked for no drugs so I can appreciate and communicate.
Cremation is not dissaproved of as the Bible says ashes to ashes and will not interfere with the "resurrection of the dead" when the soul and the glorified bodies are reunited.
My oldest girl is an Med. Doc and said there is for sure a loss of 4 to14 oz. at death and some reports of a smokey vapor leaving the chest area.
When my dad passed over at 10:2O a.m. his watch and other elec. "blew out" at that time.
When my adopted gramma was dying, and she was a healer and very evolved soul, she said she was " coming and going" and one of these times she just wasnt coming back. She said she already had work lined up and we were not to keep her earthbound with "chains of our sad tears" that she had a long life and was very excited to go, although she would miss us. She said it was one of the 39 laws of the unseen world that we were to let her go and she could only help us afterwords if we called her name and made the request. I got the feeling it is truely a one way door.

Re: When you die how long does it take for the soul to leave the body? Question Open to all religions
It's depend of how much is one still tied to the dense matter world. Remember those died in name of Jesus and for His love in the romans circus for instance? For those, even before the first bite of the beasts or the first strike of the sword, they were free, being aided and receiving the glory of the immortality, the glory of the blessing promissed in the Sermon of the Mount. It's happen for many followers of the light and the truth. People with love in his heart. At the opposite end, like the suiciders, for instance, it takes so long time, until the last part of the decomposing body being gone, they will be suffering for free themself. For regular people, it can take hours or minutes after the cerebral death.God loves you. Peace.

Re: When you die how long does it take for the soul to leave the body? Question Open to all religions
The soul and the spirit are the same thing. And every creature has one. The body is just a temporary receptacle which the soul inhabits during one particular lifetime. The body is really nothing, and is present for only the blink of an eye in universe time. When the body dies, it returns to the earth from which it came. But the soul is the real essence of a person, and it is immortal. When a creature dies, the soul leaves the body and awaits its next "lifetime." All souls are pure and, of themselves, not capable of evil, because, by definition, they are extensions of the Divine and are immutably connected to God, which is the supreme spirit and energy from which all life flows. It is neither man nor woman. In fact, it is not a person at all, but it has become our custom in western culture to refer to God as "he." Even evil people have souls. The soul cannot control or dictate what a person does. That is where "free will" comes in. What allows people to commit evil acts are the ego and the mind, two other parts of the person.

Apparently, we have not been able to ascertain with certainty when a soul enters the body and when it leaves. Some believe the soul enters the body at conception, while others have opined that it enters the fetus sometime during the course of the pregnancy. So that question remains unanswered. The soul leaves the body after death. Some have said they have witnessed this event as the person exhales his last breath, while others rely on religious belief that it remains in the body for 3 days, so that question remains unanswered, as well. At any rate, spiritual life begins when the soul enters the body and ends when the soul leaves the body, whenever that is. We must be very careful not to put definitions on life and death when we do not know for certainty when they occur. Souls come back when they have lessons to learn or to teach. Until all the lessons have been learned, the soul will keep coming back. For this reason, each soul chooses the parents to whom it wishes to be born, in order to complete its learning or teaching. Hypnotists have taken people back to previous lives, and their souls are often intertwined with the same souls throughout several lifetimes. Apparently, there are unresolved issues that must be resolves before each soul can disassociate itself from others. Many of the deep-seated issues that trouble people are carried over from previous lives, because they have not been properly dealt with and resolved.

Humans are the only species with egos. That is why we are capable of such evil. Animals are pure of spirit, because they have no egos to impel them to do evil. They only do what is necessary to exist and survive. There have been many reports of animal spirits remaining with their human companions after death. Imagine what a blessing that is! We also know that human spirits have remained in this plane after they have left their bodies. We call these "ghosts," and very rarely are they as portrayed on TV or in movies. The vast majority are benevolent. Sometimes, if the person died an unexpected and violent death, his soul has trouble leaving this plane, and needs assistance.

All creatures are capable of making connections with other creatures of varying species at the soul level, and we have all seen examples of this. Horses befriending dogs, dolphins befriending cats, etc. But to us, the soul connection that is most special is the one that animals choose to make with us. Many times, an animal's soul searches for a specific soul in a human body for important reasons. Sometimes, the animal comes to the person because it knows the person needs its help. Animals have much to teach mankind, but, unfortunately, most people are not listening. But people who have connected with an animal on the soul level know that this is a connection, not only for life, but for an eternity. Likewise human souls can connect with each other permanently. When souls are connected, they are able to communicate, either within their own species or across species. There are intuitive persons who are able to assist us in communicating with our animal companions, as I have done many times to great mutual benefit. Anyone is capable of this communication if they divest themselves of cultural teachings that tell us this is not possible. It is because it is based on intuition, and anyone can develop and exercise intuitive ability.

All religious holy books speak of the soul, describe it in the same terms, and teach that it is immortal. Some teach that the soul goes either to heaven or to hell, but spiritual people tell us that hell is really life here on this planet, and that we are destined to keep returning to this hell until "we get it right." One person on this forum posted that this is until we learn "unconditional love," which is a good way of putting it. But the ego is the biggest obstacle to unconditional love, or of universal acceptance of others. Religions teach us that the soul is created in the "image and likeness of God," which is true, because God is the spirit and energy from which all souls emanate and are immutably connected. Wayne Dyer likens this supreme source of all energy and life to an illuminated globe. In Christianity, the holy book is called The Bible. Unfortunately, this book has been altered (re-written and translated) so-many times, that it is hard to know exactly what the various scriptures said when they were originally written. Over the centuries since the first Bible was compiled by the Roman Emperor Constantine, many scriptures have been added and removed by the whim of mortals, usually Popes, who considered it their right to do so, because they considered themselves to be infallible (an act of ego). The original Bible, however, contained references to the soul's reincarnation.

These are the spiritual beliefs which I hold, not statements of provable fact. For that matter all religious teachings, be they Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist or what have you cannot be empirically proven, but people have been willing to go to war and kill to force those beliefs onto others, whom they call "pagans" or "heathens." In reality, there are no pagans or heathens, just people with different spiritual and/or religious beliefs. Each of us holds dearly to what we think works for us. You can choose what you want to believe. You have free will.
