-30C = -22F That's REALLY COLD. I was reading earlier today the polar vortex will get loose and plunge into the middle of the USA next week.

No really unusual change in our weather for the next week and half.

What, I live in Minnesota and it was 40 sat and 43 friday, I was bicycling with shorts on and there is a lot of snow on the ground, then I biked a quarter mile out on lake and Knocked on friends Icehouse for fishing then I biked back to town and sat at pub from 3 pm till a couple hours after dark, there was a cold front coming in so I thought I better bike home and put my jeans and boots on, 3 blocks from house the wind kicked up to over 45mph and the temp dropped from 29 to -15 with a -50 wind chill, after I changed I walked back down to pub with the wind on my back and the time bar closed a 2am the wind died down and it was a balmy -11.
You all are spoiled in that heat.

Wow, well it's been like this for the last two days and we haven't even hit our cold months. In January or Febuary we usually get a good two weeks of -40-50*C.

Oh I keep the thermostat at 58f all the time and when you walk in from outside it feels to hot in house.

I'm from Massachusetts. But in the summer of 1973 I was in boot camp Parris Island. They were still talking about the snowstorm. Wonder how the alligators in the swamp felt being snowed upon?

Yes i do. I was 12 and about 30 miles inland from Sumpter. Built an igloo, a real life igloo in South Carolina.

Same for here in the Triad. Friday is supposed to be the coldest day and the temps look like they are normal for us.

Maybe this is something that could/or is developing?

Right now it's computer modeled, but we're a long way off.
