Because no one has immunity to this new strain, more Americans - perhaps 50 percent more, the CDC says - could become violently ill. [ link to abcnews.go.com] Rule#4 Double Tap. |

The Stand is one of my favorite books. Although not something I want to see come to fruition. Don't particularly like the flu and this one sounds pretty nasty. I hope people who come down with symptoms stay their asses home and not out 'spreading the disease.' Ha, see what I did there?! Rule#4 Double Tap. |

Those are the figures for the typical norovirus. 50% of Americans is approx 150 million, so we are looking at maybe 6000 deaths. Hardly doom, but with 150 million people sick, that is a lot of lost productivity in the work place. Of those 150 million, how many have health care coverage? This is just going to be nasty, yuk!
