African American & Kenya Show me where the long form birth certificate says "African-American," please. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37573930 First of all, to debunk African-American entirely, they used Afro-American originally. I'm not trying to be racist here, this is the history of terms used and WHY his birth certificate would not have read AFRICAN for father. It doesn't say African American on his birth certificate. It says African for father and Caucasian for mother. Accuser is completely right though. African American was not used until the 80s. For father it would say NEGRO or BLACK. Period, there was no other "race" used for blacks at that time. It asks Race of Father African. African is NOT a race, it's a place. It was never and would not even mistakenly be used as a race. What they need to prove is that Obama was the only kid born with a father listed as African. I guarantee any others say Negro or Black at that time in Hawaii. [link to www.whitehouse.gov] Jesse Jackson announces in 1988 that blacks prefer to be called African American and says they were black or negro through the late 1960s. [link to www.jstor.org] I'm listing this because the Census and Birth registration are both Federal. They would use the same terminology with no special notes for someone from Africa or any other black from another country. 1930 "The biggest change in this year’s census was in racial classification. Enumerators were instructed to no longer use the "Mulatto" classification. Instead, they were given special instructions for reporting the race of interracial persons. A person with both white and black ancestry (termed "blood") was to be recorded as "Negro," no matter the fraction of that lineage (the "one-drop rule") 1950 The 1950 Census questionnaire removed the word “color” from the racial question. 1960 The 1960 Census re-added the word “color” to the racial question, and changed “Indian” to “American Indian”, as well as added Hawaiian, Part-Hawaiian, Aleut, and Eskimo. The Other (print out race) option was removed. [link to en.wikipedia.org] "Beginning in 1960, the Census Bureau began to use forms similar to the ones in use today, with a single form for an entire household rather than having multiple households included on the form completed by an enumerator. Census forms were mailed to most people, but census-takers picked them up. The data item is called “Color or race” with categories for “White, Negro, American Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian, Part Hawaiian, Aleut, Eskimo, (etc.)” Note that “black” did not appear on the form. The instructions called for census-takers to complete the race item by observation, and directed that Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, or other persons of Latin descent would be classified as ‘‘White’’ unless they were definitely “Negro,” “Indian,” or some other race. Southern European and Near Eastern nationalities also were to be considered “White.” Asian Indians were to be classified as ‘‘Other,’’ and ‘‘Hindu’’ was to be written in." [link to www.pewsocialtrends.org] During World War II, it was the British colony of Kenya. [link to en.wikipedia.org] "Though minimal fighting occurred in Kenya itself, it remained an important economic asset for the Allies and also contributed a significant number of soldiers to fight in the British Army." Absolutely impossible his real father served in WWII since he was born in 1936 and the WWII was all over with by 1945. Even post-war was over by 1948, his father would have been 12. "My father served in World War 2 and when he came home, he got the services that he needed." In the context Obama says this, he definitely means "home" as America. His father was not even an American...ever. [link to en.wikipedia.org] I had seen the hospital name argument before. According to Wiki, the correct name is on his birth certificate: [link to en.wikipedia.org] Anyone who had anything to do with "legalizing" him have met with untimely deaths. I say that if they haven't been able to solidly prove it by now, they never will. I did a thread on this myself involving his Social Security number being registered to person named Bounel born in 1890 and said SS# was issued in Connecticut (Obama never lived in CT). They can't get that through the courts so far either. Of interest though is that no one can prove that number was NOT issued in CT to a man named Bounel born in 1890 in Russia. My favorite is still when Michelle says they "took a trip to Africa and visited his home country in Kenya": The literary agency, Dystel & Goderich was going to publish Obama's first book Journeys in Black and White (it was never published). The biography they used for Obama from 1991 to 2007 says: "Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. The son of an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, he attended Columbia University and worked as a financial journalist and editor for Business International Corporation. He served as project coordinator in Harlem for the New York Public Interest Research Group, and was Executive Director of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago's South Side. His commitment to social and racial issues will be evident in his first book, Journeys in Black and White." The booklet, which was distributed to “business colleagues” in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel. [link to therightscoop.com] [Journeys in Black and White was never published.] Picture of the actual booklet saying this: [link to www.therightscoop.com] Why Kenyan Birth Claim Was No 'Fact Checking Error' [link to www.americanthinker.com] The gal that says she made the error on above bio is now a full partner of that literary agency. For 16 years, Obama did not notice the mistake of Kenya being his birthplace? Yes, of course. And also of course, this gal mistakenly assumed a financial journalist, editor for Business International Corporation, Harvard Law Review president, project coordinator in Harlem for the New York Public Interest Research Group and Executive Director of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago was born in Kenya and therefore wrote it on his bio. |
