Re: Sandy Hook: What gunman took Kaitlin Roig's cellphone?
Would it really be that unthinkable that a cop would decide to make the run, especially if he had a partner who had EMT training, knowing that the other ambulance(s) might be needed for critical care on scene? Maybe the SUV planned to rendezvous with an ambulance, for that matter. I've heard those calls before--one ambulance rendezvousing with another, for example, if a higher-level EMT is needed for a patient.

Hunting the elusive Roig phone.

Mebbe it's on Vedat's roof.

This house is right beside the Apex building. Was there a description of her phone, besides being a iPhone?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24846741

Carrier was Sprint...

As far as I know we haven't established for certain it was an iPhone (though I could be wrong). The one report which seems to suggest hers is the iPhone is actually worded in such a way that it could be referring to the other teacher's missing phone. Who was that teacher, btw, and what's her story abt her phone being missing? Was hers (or, well, a small chance it's a "his") the first phone pinged? Roig's, reportedly, was pinged only after an officer heard another phone was being pinged and asked to have Roig's pinged as well.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28786524

I guess the report didn't go into much details.I wonder if they took this picture after or before they searched/exited the inside of this house?

If Olivia Engel was the injured girl carried by Chapman out of Soto's room 10, then why did Dragon say he observed an officer running down the hallway with a child in his arms RIGHT AFTER he just left Room 10? At first I thought Dragon might have been talking about a cop carrying the injured boy, but HE was the one that did that.

Also, why the hell would Dragon re-enter the school through the broken window? Wouldn't you think that by this time the cops would have propped the front door open?
 Quoting: Stickywicket

Probably the second girl, from Rouseeau's bathroom, who was likely put into an SUV or cruiser. The Courant reported (in one version of Cario's leak) that a wounded girl was taken from the bathroom and placed in a cruiser.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25632657

So Chapman was supposed to have carried TWO girls out? One from Soto's room and one from Rousseau's?
 Quoting: Stickywicket

According to Cario's leak to the Courant, he and Dragon each carried at least one child out of Rousseau's bathroom "to a waiting cruiser, which whisked them to Danbury Hospital." In one version of the article (there were three total versions), a girl was specifically listed as being taken out of Rousseau's bathroom by these two officers. The final version of the article changed it back to "children."

Compounding this issue for me is the feeling I've always had that the girl in the Chapman photo looks a bit more like AMG. But it's hard to tell.

At any rate, Trooper Dragon is still listed in the article as having removed a child from Rousseau's bathroom; it seems Cario carried the boy (although still not entirely clear), so I suppose that means Trooper Dragon carried a girl at some point.

There is something up with the extra child or children. I know it's explained away as the SUV simply taking them from the scene to the FD, where they were loaded into ambulances, but there are an awful lot of references to that SUV going to Danbury with patients on board.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55152129

In his statement, Dragon says that he, himself took out the little boy.

I think AMG was taken to a hospital. An Australian newspaper (possibly two?) reported her, by name, as having perished in a hospital. I think there is also confusion as to whether BW or JL was the boy; it may be that both were transported, and that AMG and one of these boys are the two children taken to Danbury by SUV.

I also believe there are early reports of Jesse Lewis being taken to hospital, or at the least, many people believed early on that he was one of the children transported. If you put this together with the early reports of AMG being transported, it stands to reason they may be the two children taken by SUV.

It's hard to not picture Roig's phone when reading the report from a woman walking her trained search dog at 10 a.m. that morning--the dog that suddenly "alerted" when walking through a wooded area near Riverside (probably the woods between Riverside and Rocky Glen National Park), and started digging for something under a log.

Re: Sandy Hook: What gunman took Kaitlin Roig's cellphone?
I still want to know which phone Roig called her ex-partner Vest on, how she knew to tell him "the substitute teacher was fumbling for keys," and why this man, a former custodian at Sandy Hook School--who accused CT State Police who called him of being fake--then immediately flew back to Connecticut.

There were school cellphones--Blackberries I believe. Is it possible she had a Blackberry in the bathroom, but for some reason left the bathroom anyway to get her personal cellphone?

Under what possible circumstances would her personal cellphone be missing--and how did literally have to repeat the difficult series of steps all over again to get those kids safely re-hidden in the bathroom after she left for her phone? Such a big deal is made about how hard it was to get the kids ALL in there, carefully balanced and calmed down and the rolling bookcase pulled in front of the door--but then she just busts out the door again to get her phone right in the middle of the shooting?

Re: Sandy Hook: What gunman took Kaitlin Roig's cellphone?
Different version with Roig in a meeting and rushing to her classroom:

Kaitlin Roig, a first-grade teacher, lived through the horror that began when she heard shots during a meeting -- and was hailed as a hero for shepherding 15 young students to safety.

She told ABC News she rushed to her classroom, locked the door and barricaded her students in a bathroom.

[link to www.ctpost.com]
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34763230

That could be why Roig later said, "We were having morning meeting -- my favorite time of the day with the students," something to that effect. Could be a cover for the fact her students had been left alone, maybe? Have to ck the audio though--there may be another adult w/her in that room.

Could be the reporter misunderstanding "morning meeting," too, and filling in blanks. Hard to tell. But great find.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52802703

While I really think SH was a hoax, This statement ""We were having morning meeting -- my favorite time of the day with the students," is most likely referring to a morning activity with the students. Often students and the teacher will have a simple morning activity where the children sit around a table or in a circle on the floor and say something to the others. Could be a compliment or telling something fun that they did. It's a sort of sharing time, that is often used with young students to give them a good start to the day. Some students, especially young ones really need this.

I agree, 674.

I do think the following statement was TMI on her part--actually I'm going to paraphrase it but she said it was "easy" to get the children into the bathroom because they were already gathered together and calm, having their morning meeting.

At any rate, there's a reason CSP detective interviewed her multiple times about her movements that day, and that parent's continued to ask about "movements in room 12" throughout the coming year.

Re: Sandy Hook: What gunman took Kaitlin Roig's cellphone?
I think it's possible Roig was worried about how to explain to officers that her room door was (apparently) open when they arrived, given that she claimed to have closed it before going into the bathroom. It's looking pretty likely that not all of her children were in the bathroom with her, and some ran out her door leaving it open. One boy said the shooter "kicked the door open" and that would only be possible if the boy who was speaking was in room 12 when the shooter kicked the door open from the room 10 side.

Anyway, the following new statement may be a mistake, but it's also possible the number "11" is common knowledge in Newtown as far as the number of children who "ran," which would mean some may have come from room 12:

"They say seconds count when a gunman threatens. As examples, they pointed to the 11 Sandy Hook school children who were able to run from danger while Lanza reloaded his gun "

[link to newtownbee.com]

It should have been 9, not 11 - the other two Soto kids were hiding in a closet/bathroom in room 10.

To clarify: She was worried about how to explain that the door to the *hall* was open.

It is the side door that was liked kicked open, causing the children to run for the hall door, open it, and leave.

If this kid's account has any validity then I think you just hit on an important detail insofar as how the shooter moved from room to room. Good catch.

Glad to see this thread getting a bump. It's too important to the events of the day to not keep working on it.

I was convinced until recently that he popped out of room 8, but I think he ran into room 8 to force Hatcher out to draw fire, and then wisely (but still fatally) came out of 6, so as to present a harder target. I think that when Smith pegged him in the chest he dropped the magazine he had in one of his hand, or something to that effect, and that's why it lay there. It could have also been kicked at any point, of course.

Why he would run out, I don't know. But if it was just a kid, he was probably just racing around frantically at that point.

I hope this doesn't sent this thread off-topic, but I just noticed that the interview in Book 5 / Document 00002173 is co-conducted by a Deputy U.S. Marshal. The U.S. Marshal Service isn't really in the business of investigating crimes such as these. More about them can be found here:

[link to www.usmarshals.gov]

If Sandy Hook doesn't involve fugitive investigations, prisoner transport, judicial security, or witness protection why is the Marshal service investigating?

Hmm. Good point. Perhaps they were already considering legal action? By the time of this interview on the 18th, this woman would have known that the official story was deviating significantly from what she saw. For example, her kid did not evacuate in some orderly fashion with his class, going neatly to the firehouse en masse to be carefully accounted for. Instead he "came out of the left side of the building" and she and her husband intercepted him. Roig student? That would be one of the more glaring possible contradictions a parent might consider acting on...if you're seeing Roig on national news going on about sheltering all kids in a bathroom, but you know your own son never made it into that bathroom--maybe that marshall was there to receive papers.

Also someone who possibly lives near the school, and who obviously takes Church Hill to get there.

1. Female
2. Parent of male student
3. Parked in one of the school lots before entrance was blocked
4. Obviously couldn't retrieve car since friend drove them home at 11:30 p.m. (why so late?)
5. Was there with husband
6. Was interviewed at Newtown ECC (why?)
7. Possibly had lawyer present "...also present was..."
8. Was interviewed four days later--why? Did this individual initiated the meeting?
9. Didn't hear gunshots? Pretty impossible if she was in the parking lot when she claimed she was.
10. Did cops initiate the meeting to specifically ask/coach her on the "I didn't hear gunshots" part?

Yes--I wondered how she recovered that photo if her phone was stolen, but some have theorized that she tweeted or Instagrammed it--I haven't seen any proof of that, though.
