Re: Sandy Hook: What gunman took Kaitlin Roig's cellphone?
Just read Katrenya's statement - he observed Roig being let out of the bathroom. "One blonde female teacher."

No discussion of any second teacher in Roig's room, nor any other adult, as far as I'm aware.

Can that be correct?

All other K and 1st grade rooms that I'm aware of had multiple staff.

Have to ck 911 calls to see if Roig mentions another teacher but I don't believe she does; this would be further confirmation that those particular calls are in fact from Roig.

After listening to debate between Jim Fetzer and Keith Johnson it was learned, from Johnson, that the reason there was the sign "everyone must check in" and why many had lanyard IDs is because Newtown had previous hired Salamander Technologies, so that they would be ready in the event something like this would occur:

"The Sandy Hook, Newtown and Cheshire Fire Departments utilized Salamander Intelligent Accountability (IA) solutions that they purchased from local Regional Technical Center (RTC), Higgins Corporation, prior to this terrible event. Nearly all on-scene were tagged and tracked using the department’s IA gear. This helped those responsible to resolve the situation and manage it more effectively and efficiently by allowing them to know who was on-scene and accounted for."

I find this very curious for a small town, maybe I'm wrong but my town has not hired a company for a just in case situation...

Totally agree about Fetzer, I only mentioned him to point out the information about Salamander Technologies.
And yes many people had on ID that day without one mention of this technology being used to organize the event....
IMO if they were using it to keep track of everything it didn't work well for them.

Re: Sandy Hook: What gunman took Kaitlin Roig's cellphone?
From the Salamander website:

Salamander is announcing the addition of two exciting mobile applications for smartphones and tablets to its existing line of Intelligent Accountability (IA) products, the 01 TAG app for Apple iOS and the 02 TRACK app.

That explains why everyone had an Iphone in an Otterbox and I do mean everyone.

Look at the tags they have - that's what was going on at Sandy Hook. I found close to 30 pics of people wearing the tags though many seemed to be trying to hide them from photographers.

You'd think every parent who lost a child that day would have a tag then. I didn't see them on the McDonells or Parkers.

What are the odds cash-strapped Newtown would shell out the $ for this in advance? About Zero.

Seems to be another red flag for a planned drill.

Excellent find!

This deserves it's own thread.
We're going to be seeing a lot more of this company I;m afraid. Tag your kids for safety!! s226

And the question remains...who took the phone through the woods, to the Apex property, which perhaps not coincidentally was halfway to the best woods in which to get lost?

Thank you someone finally sees this!

Read about the other events Salamander has been used in and I found out another company purchased Salamander, they tout the good work this system has accomplished yet no mention of Sandy Hook.....

This still does not answer how they had a sign or who was checking everyone in....I'm still looking for when they purchased this, so far none of the firehouses make the announcement of their new purchase that I can find.

Great points, you guys!

As for the "Everyone must check in" sign....I've only seen it behind Gene Rosen in one of his many interviews. I think its taken on the 15th or 16th so this MAY just have to do with media.

Not sure if this was posted yet or not, one of the reports of several officers searching building for phone but also, this is the second report I've read that states that their portable radios did NOT work in the school when trying to radio for ambulances. i would think this would be a huge sticking points. I wonder if any parents read these reports and have begun to be outraged at how things were handled. How can they just accept what they have been told?

According to Johnson, that sign was part of the Salamander operation along with the lanyards and possibly the porta-potties.

So who had the base command running that operation? You would think in an event this large it would have been mentioned..

Also, AFAIK, not one police report has yet to mention anyone checking in...

I've tried my hardest to prove that Sandy Hook happened as reported. I didn't want to call hoax without being sure that it didn't happen. I read everything looked at every friggin picture, read every first hand account..none of I makes sense in a real world way.

This bit of information just convinced me that it was a drill. No question. Someone may have died, and I think that's likely just to have an ace in the hole they can pull out to "disprove" there was a drill going on. It doesn't mean someone couldn't have been killed during a drill.

I'm sold on Sandy Hoax though.
Count me in.

Re: Sandy Hook: What gunman took Kaitlin Roig's cellphone?
But...

A drill wouldn't call for the CSP to record its own dispatcher railing away against one of the most sensitive topics in CSP history--dispatch consolidation.

Nor would it call for the hero teacher (where's her additional staff, btw? But anyway...) to have her phone suddenly "taken by a second gunman" and then have some ex-boyfriend-custodian living out of state calling three cops a night saying how he's going to come back and see her or else, and by the way, she told him her colleague was "fumbling for keys" when she was killed.

No script calls for that messy, embarrassing, lawsuit-waiting-to-happen stuff.

At any rate, those of you who think it was a drill should be TEN TIMES more dedicated to researching this than anyone else.

What always arouses my suspicion is people saying it was a drill and hinting that for that reason, there's "no point" in reading or caring anymore.

And, hmm, what drill calls for a hero teacher's phone to somehow mysteriously be far away from the school in a story where there is said to be one and only one shooter?

Where is Roig's educational assistant?

Soto had extra staff, Rousseau had extra staff, Pisani WAS extra staff...is Kaitlin Roig literally the only teacher in Sandy Hook School who had not one additional adult in the room that day with her and the kids?

Is there someone missing, to this day, from Sandy Hook School??

For what it's worth, I don't think it was totally a drill. I'm not sure what it really was other than it makes no sense to me and I don't believe the police report at all. It feels like a coverup.

If that is Room 10 in the video snip, what is that door leading into the next room? Looks like a guy in white n the next room? That would mean there was in fact a door t hat opened into Room 10 from Room 8. This is where the building blueprint has something that could be a door, too..I thought it was odd that they'd have the connecting door so close to the door leading to the hall, but it looks like this is the case.

Just to be sure, that video snip is of Room 10?

I know we tend to hold law enforcement responsible for most of the lies/fact-bending that day, but what if they were being lied to themselves?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52802703

This is a great point. If you've viewed Smallstorm's presentation, she suggests Carver is acting out of his element, laughing nervously as if he had been directed and ordered to fabricate the details around the staged scenario. In that same respect it is very possible that law enforcement encountered other operatives at work and were ordered to cooperate.

I remember a report that a teacher requested an officer slip their badge under the door before opening it. Perhaps officials were on the scene far too quickly (drill theory) that it was difficult for said teacher to feel confident that the individual was truly an officer and not the active shooter.

An aerial of the scene, showing the difference between heading to the right towards Treadwell (sparse coverage, more populated) vs. heading to the left, towards Rocky Glen (dense coverage, no people). Drawback to Rocky Glen is crossing roads, but at 9:45-9:49 a.m. 12/14, literally only a few minutes into the police call, your chances of being ignored are quite good.

The little strip of water visible is where Rocky Glen begins. Significantly dense forest.

And keep in mind, again, there is only one, tiny bridge entering Rocky Glen at that point - no police vehicles can follow you in, as opposed to Treadwell, which could literally be swarmed by police vehicles. If you're on foot in Rocky Glen, you're home free for all practical purposes.

Interesting you mentioning Treadwell, I have been looking for info on the Salamander Techonology system they supposedly used and I came across this document.

They were supposed to set up the parent, student, teacher staging to reunite everyone.

Seems the fire house was very congested and they first offered Fairfield Hills as a spot and they also mention setting up PIO at Treadwell Park.

Pages 30-32 mention this...

This also points out Treadwell, this appears from reading it that Sany Hook could have benefited from a system like Salamander unless I am reading it wrong.

So I am wondering now, is Fairfield Hills or Treadwell Park anywhere near the glass company?

Could LE have picked up her phone by accident and transferred it to one of those places as they set up a command center?

Did they ever leave the fire station?

I think a key thing to look at is who are the first people to arrive, I read on another thread that it appears that NPD may have handcuffed AL, are those same people who may have gone to set up the command center or searched for her phone?

Was Salamander used at SH?

They had a hell of a time finding those kid that day. They had scattered into town, some were snatched up by parents before they could be documented; some ran to the Children's Adventure Center, etc. If Salamander was used, it definitely wasn't used in any way that accounted for the missing kids, because cops had to canvas the neighborhood for hours.

Opposite direction.

Missing phone went walkabout up the back hill of SH School, into the woods (the same woods the helicopter footage is from).

Then through those woods and in between two properties, 6 and 10 Riverside Road (the latter is Apex Glass). That's in a direction away from the school headed towards Rocky Glen as opposed to Treadwell. Obviously doesn't mean that's where the runners ended up, or even that runners took the phone; but somehow it was pinged there.
