And now, to expose what an absolute moron I am regarding science, I have just one question:

If the earth was originally covered with a sheet of just one big massive rock (the crust), then where did the ocean(s) originate?

(I told you I was stupid about science!)

Outgassing. Water came from molten rocks as they cooled. At one point our planet was so hot that all the oceans were swirling around in the atmosphere, much like Venus today. Unlike Venus, our planet was able to cool to the point we're rain could fall and collect on the surface.

I live 40-50 miles NW of St Louis, Mo and there was a low rumbling for probably 10-15 minutes this morning. The pitch was so low that my wife really couldn't hear it.

WHOAAAA! Did anyone else hear it?

I live near Alturas, California and heard one last week that vibrated the house. After being in the Nisqually Earthquake years back where I saw "S" waves move through the property I was standing on- the vibration reminded me of that. I jumped up and checked USGS to see if we had a quake in this rare quake area, nothing.
Mind you I'm in a very rural area that we can hear an echo just from talking loud, a pellet rifle sounds like a .308, etc. That said the sound woke me up and I feel like there may have been a flash, too- it took me from a deep sleep and brought me to my feet.
I know that over in Humboldt County on the coast, booms are being heard nearly daily. When I lived there we had an earthquake about once every six weeks or so- nothing major, just a big jolt and boom. People there are seeing green flashes followed by booms. The green flash thing reminds me of seeing the green flash at sunset in the tropics.
I've noticed that our animals were acting strange around the time of the last boom and I've been paying attention to them closely.
Something is coming our way.

I can. The ground makes these noises. Quite often they
precede eq's but not always.
I heard it once where I live. (the low booming almost humming sound....remote area, 100's of acres of forest etc)
Cupped my hands behind my ears and made directional microphones out of them.....the sound was coming from the ground.
p.s. I have heard them on many other occaisons but they were fast and short...these are ALWAYS followed by eq's.

Starting to make me wonder if we are in the midst of a physical pole shift. It would explain so many thngs.
It appears to be the sound of tectonic plates moving.

yep i've heard them for years sometimes they sound like a semi truck slamming into your house.

I would be careful, however, to claim that there is a cover up in place. It seems to me unlikely that people in general, working for NOAA or USGS, are trying to hide information concerning the historic connection of booms and quakes. Would it not be more likely that the people working there simply do not know about this? Yes, I agree they should know about the historical evidence (which I have to add, you very convincingly highlighted), but it could also simply mean that the person who wrote about the Charleston earthquake simply did not do his homework/reseach.

Furthermore, look at what was precisely written on their homepage: "As for scientific evidence for loud sounds that preceded the 1886 Charleston, SC Earthquake, there is none. To our knowledge, there were no seismographs or barographs that recorded the earthquake." In other words, they are not lying when they are saying that there is no scientific evidence as scientific evidence in this case implies some sort of measuring device. Such a device, however, did not exist at the time. All we have is anecdotal evidence and this, in the world of science, just does not count as strong evidence.

keep in mind that this county is at the very southern edge of the Cascadia faultline.
also, be aware that not everyone can hear them. happened once and the dogs could hear it, I could, mom could but not my dad.
If I were them I would not say anything either since if many of us are right, there wold not be a lot they could do.

No doubt. I keep a small camper ready to roll if Shasta ever pops off....Helens put that fear in me. I have noticed that after hearing a boom, as I've heard a dozen or so the last eight months or so- my well water smells like sulfur for several days afterwards. On a normal day it's just super clean w/ no alpha particles like town water.

The booms I've heard AREN'T from Kingsley, they only seem to fly when I try to put the baby down for a nap!

Don't think USGS is covering up any of the history you mention.....a quick google search after reading your post reveals this....

Wow! Very interesting.

I live on the Georgia/South Carolina border and I heard a boom last night. I was lying in bed, about to drift off when I heard it. At first I thought it was one of those blaring/thumping stereos in the cars that sometime park at the corner (I live in the hood), as though they just turned on the stereo full blast, right outside the window, for one beat.

It wasn’t a car stereo, but it felt like one. What I mean by this is that I am kind of sensitive to loud noises, and sometimes when those cars pass I feel the bass in my body, it’s irritating and disruptive, and that’s what the boom sounded (and felt) like. It sounded like an extremely loud amplified bass note. And although there may have been storms in the area, it wasn’t thunder.

Reading these articles about the place I grew up (I’ve been to Ninety-Six, SC, lol) is fascinating. What is even more interesting to me is I have a friend who lives across the river in SC, we both live close to the river, but he’s up higher than we are, and he’s heard a lot of booms. When he has reported them, or others have, he gets all kinds of excuses he doesn’t believe. He’s a musician and is probably more sensitive to sound than I am, so maybe he feels them too and knows it’s not really normal.

Anyway, maybe a minute later I heard a less intense one and then it was done. It happened at 12:30 am this morning.

Bigger atmosphere? Or could the earth have been a water planet, oceans, and the rock was seafloor, does that makes sense since many signs poinnts to all life stem from ocean.

Let's pretend the real knowledge has long figured out the earth is expanding and has figured out, say for military reasons, exactly how to produce an earthquake.

Hey it is a conspiracy website... Just thinking of all the options.

South America is a large place. How can anyone claim that there are no booms happening anywhere in South America unless they are everywhere at the same time?

The OP has done a great job of proving the conspiracy to keep the booming from the public. The same sort of conspiracy exists concerning the hollow earth and the connection to the Bible.
