I know this but America hasn't done a good job teaching the slaves children and descendent about their history. barely anyone even back then had anything to do with it. the blacks sold their own into slavery. only 4% of whites TOTAL owned slaved, and those were plantation owners in the south.
when blacks were freed, nearly 30% of them went on to become SLAVE OWNERS. Far disproportionate. Whites also risked and many lost their lives to help free slaves - far more exponentially than the 4% who were slaveowners.

There ARE very prominent black families in America today, now to say slavery is at fault for how we as a community act today is only halfway accurate.

Should we expect any different from a group of people/descendants that suffered 500 years of extreme physical and mental trauma?

Imagine what life would be like for the present day descendants of the European nationalities of Scots, Irish, Brits, Germans, Dutch etc had all of their knowledge of their rich heritage and cultures been erased from their memories, and omitted in all history accounts. Their conquerors and oppressors had convinced their descendants over time that they descended from cavemen, and were the lowest form of the human species. They're told that they lack intelligence and have never accomplished or contributed anything throughout history. No knowledge whatsoever of great white civilizations such as Rome and Greece. No knowledge of the great structures built by their ancestors centuries ago. In other words, those present descendants have no pride or true knowledge of themselves or their history. That is the state of Blacks here in the U.S. and across the globe today.

I myself do not blame all whites for the actions of their forefathers. But speaking honestly, Blacks are aware that many Whites did not agree with, nor did they ACTIVELY participate in the slave trade. But they are also aware that most whites remained silent and accepted what would Black people's fate in 400 years slavery. Many also accepted all priveledges that whites received due to slavery, and continue to this day to participate in and keep alive a system and institution built to oppress people of color. For that reason I believe Blacks continue to harbor feelings of resentment towards Whites.

What percentage of whites renounced slavery? What percentage of whites benefited from 500 years of slavery and institutionalized racism?

Hypothetical scenario here:

Says whites were slaves, and a few were able somehow become free men. Not only were they free, but able to themselves own a slave. Given the chance, do you not believe that whites would have purchased their brothers and sisters as slaves? And once they did purchase their brother or sister would they not likely treat them 10x better than that of his oppressor?

Freed blacks purchasing their brothers and sisters from the oppressive slave masters sounds like an intelligent way of buying their brothers and sisters freedom to me! I would bet my bottom dollar that they went without the usual daily racial slurs, beatings, and rapes.

Blacks use the race card for everything. They use it primarily as an excuse for their failure in life. Its easier to blame whitey than admit the are poor and stupid because they don't have the ambition to stay in school and learn enough to get a job.

They grow up in current america where you can stuff your face and do nothing if you so choose. Nothing about that spells hardship to me. If people claim they are not equal but wish to be they have to give up these special priveleges of hypersensitivity.
