Put my dog down today

I did the same to my 1/2 Doby, 1/2 Shepherd 3 years ago. He made it to 15. Was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. We just recently get a choc lab puppy. She's awesome, but nothing will ever replace my boy.

I am very, very sorry to hear it OP. Please, consider to get another puppy to easy your pain.

When my first Maltese girl died at the age of 12,5 I was devastated and crying all the time. Two weeks later I got another girl Maltese and she saved me from misery.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how very special our furry babies are. I fear the day I loose my Boxer. I was deeply depressed two years ago that I layed in bed all the time. My Boxer never left my side and when I would cry she would put her front paws on my shoulders and lick my face. I hope this doesn't sound insensitive but maybe in a few weeks you could get another dog? I know it would never replace your sweet pet but a new puppy is alot of fun.

I've buried all my animals...it helped me personally to know that every element of their life and death i was able to provide a good life and good resting place to return to the earth.

You are absolutely right, no new pet can ever replace a pet you have lost, and we would never want them to. But one wonderful thing about getting another one is that it's an opportunity to make new memories with your new pet, just like the special one you lost. Getting another pet can never replace our lost one, but it can help fill the void plus give you much to look forward to. Every animal has its own personality, just like people. Anyone who doesnt believe that has never been close to a pet.

Over my 68 years I have owned several pets, both cats and dogs, and each one made their own special mark on my life and my heart. As I look back on each of them, they each added much to my life that I'm glad I didn't miss out on.
Your new baby will make her own place in your life and your heart without pushing away your love and memories of Kia. And I have no doubt that Kia is happy that you have decided to take a new baby into your home and your heart. Good luck and Enjoy her!

I am super sorry to hear that OP. I can empathize. Please try and remember all the joy your dog gave you when she was with you. This is going to be a very hard day for you and you will be in my thoughts.

aww Hun. So sorry. I had a shin tzu for 15 years, a mini schnauzer for 13 and just this past summer, my other Lil white mini schnauzer at 12 yrs. It's truly heart breaking. the only consolation I had was they didn't have to feel pay and suffer. hugs to you.

Thats very sad mate. And very heart wrenching. Its the same as losing another loved one.
